Red, white and blue hugg

There are many envelopes of various sizes sitting here that I haven't had the oomph to acknowledge individually. I may start working on laying out these blocks next week. There are envelopes here from: N. Dakota Patchogue, NY Germany Morgantown, PA Palm Bay, FL Grove City, OH Waleska, GA Baltimore,MD Moss Point Charleston, IL San Pedro, CA Vancouver, WA New Brunswick Marion, IA Caldwell, ID Bellvue, WA plus the ones I did individually email earlier.

It is not too late to send blocks if you wish. If your local news hasn't been keeping up with Gabby Giffords progress, it has been remarkable. Within the first 8-9 days of being shot she was able to not just sit on the side of the bed (with help) and dangle her legs. But she was able to stand up. Surgery to repair the eye socket went well. She was responding to people, able to move arms, fingers, legs and such. And responding to requests. In fact, she was so improved that on Friday (or was it Thurs???) She was moved to the rehab facility in Houston. This allows her husband to return to work at NASA, and his daughters to visit as they wish. The prognosis is for a possible near complete recovery. Which is wonderful news. For the next while AZ will be minus a representative in congress, but that is minor in comparison.

Most of the other victims have been released from the hospital and will complete their recovery at home. The impromptu memorial on the lawn of the University Medical Center is amazing, and still growing. The candles are lit in a sort of ceremony each evening. But Tucson, and Arizona are trying to move on with life and return to as "normal" as possible. But there is a lot of talk about being able to disagree, to have different points of view and still be friendly. Which is a good thing.

Thanks to everyone who is supporting these hugs, I will try to deliver them to Tucson by mid Feb. and will keep you all apprised. Since Gabby is now in Houston, I will probably deliver her Hug to her office in Tucson, unless there is someone in Houston who wants to try to hand deliver it.

Sure, Irene. 'By the end of the month' was the goal. Even if your mail carriers are sliding in the snow you still have time. Polly

THere is still plenty of time to send blocks. Next week end (Thurs. Fri. and Sat.) I will be working at the Quilt, Craft, and Sewing Festival (put on by the Rusty Barn group). That means 3 days of exhaustion. And some cash money. (Any of you in AZ that come by, I will be at the TreadleArt booth, stop by and say hi.)

So will really start work on it after that.

Oh good. We've been so busy with the basement recently I don't know which way is up! I should have some time this evening to stitch up a block to send out this week.

I expect we sign it as usual?

It isn't the snow, Polly, as much as it is the basement 'project' - lots of work and time but coming along!

Ooooh, I almost forgot about these. Did you get my blocks? How's the quilt coming? Are you rested from working at the TreadleArt booth? (I'm just full of questions today!)

LOL Yep I am pretty much rested up from working the TreadleArt booth. Rick is in much better spirits and working on restraint with food (after the stent and such). Got a bunch of envelopes that I haven't opened. Let me try to pick up where I left off with locations....... Bellevue, MI Oxnard, CA Chandler,AZ (I was over in Chandler yesterday. AQG Chapter Chair meeting . ) Federal Way, WA Wallis, TX Brighton, MI Bedford, MA Sparks, NV Dayton, OH

If you sent something and I haven't listed you here or in the previous message. Or replied off group, please let me know. If there are more blocks in the mail, please let me know. I am planning on assembling and such this week.

Pati, in Phx where it has been cold, cold, cold. The Phoenix Open Golf tournament had to cancel the Pro-Am, the first round was delayed by 4 hours because of ice/frost/cold and such.

Sandy, I don't know what is happening.... sigh. I did get one email from you, and replied off group. Guess it didn't go through???? That is why I didn't put Henderson on the list. But yes, I got your envelope.

Just a note, most of the envelopes have not been opened yet. I did get some red and blue fabric (Satinesque by Patrick Lose) to use as sashing/borders/fillers/??? I hope it will be colorful and cheerful.

Thank you every> I'm beginning to think that there is some glitch in Pati receiving

My SIL just told me that she is entering a quilt in AQG Quilt Show. I may just have to mosey over to Mesa and take a look. I've never been to one.
