SO CAL Quilter's Run--Sun

I did 3 shops in the southern route on Sunday. My DH was the address finder 'cause I bribed him with lunch out. It was kinda fun--the drive, the small free gifts, the nice people.

Spent money on a watercolor quilt book by Dina Pappas; bought 4" and 6" templates for drunkard path--the demo was to cut the opposite corner too and add a smaller curved piece on that side!

Also bought 2 patterns--Hollyhocks/Posy Patch and Nite-Nite/Crayons. Both of the patterns use assorted numbers of FQ plus borders but the Nite-Nite/Crayons appears to be a version of the log cabin although they dont call it that--each strip is a different color in the block and arranged different ways but sewn so that the seams dont butt up next to each other so you dont have to worry about matching seams.

In one of the stores they had a Lone Star quilt on display made from HST! Took me a little while to figure it out with cut out triangles of paper then I colored it out on graph paper. I will try making a wall hanging in Americana to practise the design.

The was another GORGEOUS quilt in Temecula store called Purple Haze but ALAS no pattern for it as it was going to be a class. I would have bought THAT pattern--rich purples and forest greens! as well as some light colors. There was flying geese in the design too.
