Squishie - I GOT A SQUISHIE

Yes, I got my very first squishie. And from our very own Polly.

She emailed the other day and said that after she'd "stolen" my idea for red ultra-suede berries, she had some and wondered if I'd like a hunk or two. Well, it showed up Monday and besides red there was a piece of blue, white, purple and even something like giraffe.

Well, now I've got to think of a new project to use them all in. Thanksgiving is here and I've got a few extra days off so I'll just have to see what I can get myself into.

Thanks, Polly!

That's a thrill! Polly has great color sense. (Blueberries? Grapes? At the moment, I am suffering from one of those ear-worms. Did you know that the tune of our national anthem was originally a drinking song called "To Anacreon in heaven"? It was a mistake to look up the words, because it sounds a lot catchier than with Francis Scott Keyes's adaptation. Here's the final line, sort of a quilty image:

There's more red ultrasuede here if anyone else is having a holly berry appliqué attack. Cutting wee circles is a little tricky but if you mess one up no harm is done. Polly

Round paper punches come in many sizes and work on suede and felt usually. They cut nice circles.

Just saying :-)

Thank you, Marcella. I tried my paper punches but they were either too wimpy or terribly dull. Could be 50 years old. Wonder where I look for a sharp new one in a good size? Maybe in a scrap-booking section of a hobby shop? Polly
