Stuck!

The last few days, I've been making great progress on machine-quilting my first bed-size quilt, which I'm trying to have finished by the end of June. I'm a beginning quilter, and I don't think the quilting part is nearly as much fun as the planning, cutting, piecing, and sewing on binding steps. So I felt very virtuous to be plugging away on quilting instead of working on piecing one of my newer projects (especially the card-tricks wall hanging that is a perfect match for my bathroom textiles; that is so much fun!).

Anyway, I've just run out of quilting thread! Why do I never buy enough thread??? I think I'll watch some television while snipping off loose ends of thread.

Hi Louise,

I have had this happen a couple of time recently. I like to use Mettler 60wt cotton thread and it is very hard to find. When I do run out it is usually in the middle of a project, of course.

Why do I never have enough thread???? Let me know when you figure this one out, I need to know too!!!

Maybe it is because buying thread is not something fun to do, like buying fabric. It's more like buying, oh, toilet paper.

Howdy!

Hang in there, Louise!

Quilting is my favorite part. Finished is my favorite kind of quilt. You'll be Finished before you know it!

Not enough thread? Is there ever? Just F> The last few days, I've been making great progress on machine-quilting

Perhaps you should branch out into machine satin stitch applique, then the thread color and type would be part of the design process. Even the boring colors like black and white are important choices.

Or you could start using more exciting thread colors for quilting, variegateds and such. Lively colors that are fun to look at. Debra in VA See my quilts at
