Thanks and a few questions for Serendipity

Hi all,

Thanks for all the warm welcomes. When Flair told me there was a lot of activity here she wasn't kidding. I'm trying as hard as I can to get up to date but life is getting in the way. I may be slow at posting but I love this group.

Now for a question to the one at serendipity. I love the quilt that is behind you on your contact page. Where in this world did you find all those solids in so many colors? I've never really added solids in color but you have given them a new respect for me. I do have black, white and blue but that's it. And would you be so kind as to tell me what size each block is? And what is the name of the pattern you used? I really would like to attempt this one. The one you did is gorgeous. Thanks for any help.

Hi Dorothy

I wanted to see the Serendipity quilt but couldn't find where to look. Could you point me in the right direction. Thanks

I've now been pointed (thanks Rita) - knew the name but brain not working. I'd looked in the new 'site list' but hadn't thought of the long arm quilters.

And there it is under Jan's name. It does get difficult when we all have two or three different names!

It is a lovely summery quilt and there is a bigger picture in the Gallery section.

Thanks Dorothy!! I had to go look at my own web page to figure out which quilt... sad but true.... those are called moda marbles. They are not a true solid... but that's why I like them, they have kind of a mottled thing going on. If you google moda marbles or do a search on any web quilt store, you will usually find some. And if anyone has wondered why that one has a ton of different quilting on it..... it's my sampler quilt.... meaning I did it as something to show different examples of things on one quilt to show how the different quilting makes the same thing look different, what different things are etc..... I usually wouldn't do that much different quilting motiffs/ styles/whatever on one quilt ;-)

I can not remember how big each block is, but I did use Eleanor Burns Jewel Box pattern for that one, so it's whatever her directions said. Eleanor Burns always writes really good directions. Although I sometimes wonder where the heck she's going with it, I usually follow blindly and wind up with something great! ;-) And they are always easy to find patterns. Libararies, Local Quilt stores and even Joanns type stores carry them.

Have fun!! And welcome!!

Thanks Sally!! And Rita!! And I agree..... it does get confusing!! Heck I have people emailing me thinking I'm Naomi I really started as Jan..... it's really my name ;-) Serendipity came later. And I just don't want anyone to think I'm hear for advertising purposes, but yet I don't want to hide that portion of my life.... so I post it in the appropriate spot and go about as me ;-) With the nickname proudly given to me by this group And do you all ever sleep??? 2 am?? 5 am???? Oh my!! I don't think I'm the only consuming coffee around here! ;-)

According to my received post you posted at 13.22 = 1.30a.m. in real numbers - the the pot is calling the kettle black!

Of course, clever computer turns the time into the time of the person reading!

I slept very well last night - from 11.30 until 8.00 - I had overdone the gardening yesterday, but I now live in a weed-free zone (except for the ones that grew 5 minutes after I'd weeded that patch!

Ok... you have a point ;-) In my defense... I hadn't had coffee yet and I think (and I am trying to forget) that everyone piled on top of me around 5:30 am..... it was a joyous event for everyone except the sleeping mom ;-)
