For those of you who read my post last week, I have further news.....good news.
I had visited a Joanne's store for the second time to pick up an item that the staff assured me they always had on hand....but they didn't have it. I asked if I could place a special order, and after waiting almost an hour for them to look for the SKU #, and then having to call their Home Office for it, I paid for the order and headed out. When checking over the receipt, I realized that I'd been charged $7 shipping for this item to be delivered to the store! Now, if this were a bridal fabric, or a decorator fabric, something that they normally didn't stock, that would be one thing. But, why should I pay to have a "stock" item delivered to the store? Heck, I could've gone online and ordered it to be delivered to my home! (and saved three trips)
Anyway, I sent an email to Joanne's. I immediately received a confirmation that said I'd hear from them within 48 hours. Well, four days later, I called their customer service phone number. I talked to a nice young man who seemed very sympathetic, but I had my doubts. I told him that ideally, when I went to pick up the order, I'd like it re-rung, and it would include a 50% discount (coupon which I didn't have with me when I placed the order), a tax reimbursement (I had just gotten the paperwork from our church authorizing tax-exempt status), and a refund of the shipping charges! Just hours later, the manager from our closest store called!! She told me to come in and ask for her. I did that today, and she granted all my wishes, and couldn't have been nicer! So, I'm a happy shopper! And thanks to those of you who pushed me to do this!
