Twin Needle FM ?

You might find info in your machine manual Carole. I have found that if you rethread every once in awhile when doing a lot of TN stitching then they are much more inclined to stay cooperative. Taria

Well, I have several thread stands, so I have places for two spools of thread. I just can't figure how you keep from getting the two threads twisted if you're sending them down through the same threading path. I guess I'll have to experiment! I think I would use it for more of a thread painting technique before layering and quilting, because I wouldn't want that zig-zag on the back of my quilt.

Lots of ways to do it. If you don't have a 2nd thread spool holder you can get creative and make one. The silliest, I guess, is to tape a closed safety pin to the top of a coffee mug or jelly jar with the circle loop end up at the top rim. Put your 2nd spool of thread into the mug, thread it through the pin's loop and then just follow your usual upper thread routine. Don't let the two threads tangle around each other. As ridiculous as this mug method sounds and looks, it works very well when a thread is contrary - some metallics are goofy-wound. Polly

Remember to let Spool #1 unwind ONE way and Spool #2 unwind the opposite. Also, there are different widths to the Twin needle for different effects. I like it the most for when I was doing Pintucks.........even ran a light 'cord' to make the tucks stand up better. (Made teh cord with the same theread I used for the sttiches. Sure you could find a website--you tube showing how this is done......easier than trying to explain). Secondly, make sure you have the WIDE hole on the throat plate NOT the single hole one.(I put a post-it note on the SM to remember which plate is in use. Thirdly, WALK the machine to make sure everything is set up correctly for the first 2 'trial stitches' so you don't break your needle and then run normally for a few more stitches to check the tension. And lastly. REMEMBER to HAVE FUN....drop those shoulders and BREATHE in-out-in-out.

Butterfly (actually cut out a Christmas Stocking today for the company that couldn't make it for Christmas Day---will be here in Jan instead :)

Well, then, if I can actually find the ONE twin needle that I know I have with this machine, I will certainly do some experimenting and see if it works for me.

We spent way to much time at Christmas searching for the one gift I 'put up'. Therefore I've decided not to put up anything ever again. It will be hard to walk around here soon. Polly

My mom is really good a buying a gift early, hiding it someplace "safe" and the completely forgetting about it when gift giving time comes.

When I was 6 or 7 years old my sisters and I were opening our Christmas presents and having a ball. Dad was cleaning up wrappings and Mom was watching with a puzzled face. She kept asking us if we'd opened all our gifts. We had and were happy playing and admiring them. She left the room and a little bit later she yelled out, "Girls, come quick! Santa left more presents in the kitchen!"

Sure enough there was a pile of presents in the kitchen sink :-)
