TWO fair Ribbons!

I won TWO ribbons!

We decided that today was the day to go to the fair. Wanted to make a day of it rather than just an evening. Well, the usual 35 minute drive was 1 hour and 45 minutes due to traffic from home to the fair parking. I was willing to walk around on our way to the Quilt Exhibit but Bert headed right over there.

Well, barely in the door and there hanging up on the wall, not folded over amongst other quilts like in the past, was my quilt. With TWO ribbons! I received a Blue ribbon for my Class, Applique Hand, and I received a Purple Rosette Ribbon for Best of Division which is the best of all eight classes in that division. I was blown away. I was just standing there taking it all in when this lady that I didn't even know, out of the blue asked if I quilted. All I could do was point at my quilt.

I know that I'm pretty emotional some times, but I had tears running down my cheeks. Such recognition is quite a bit overwhelming. After a pretty rough first full week at school, this was a pretty good pick-me-up.

Wow, just Wow!!! You really deserved those ribbons, Steven. I was at the Association of Pacific West Quiters's quilt show today. It had some absolutely beautiful quilts by some famous quilters. Sharon Shamber had a real show stopper in the show as did Marilyn Badger. The more local to Washington quilters really held their own for workmanship, design and beauty. I wish you all could have been there. Steven's quilt would have been amongst the greats, I'm sure. Donna in Bellevue

Thanks Donna. I took a bunch of pictures and will get them up in the next day or so. Wish I could have been at the guilt show today. Always so inspiring.

Well the saying is "you get what you deserve" isn't it? And that applies to good as well!

You deserve the ribbons. Your quilt is beyond gorgeous and I'm so glad the powers that be recognized your talent.

Way to go Steven! I'm headed to the fair today or possibly Wednesday. I'll look for your quilt while I'm there. It will be fun to see a quilt from a fellow rctq'er. Twila in Willow

Steven I went to the fair because my husband wanted to AND I wanted to see your quilt. I am so glad that I went. It is just so beautiful and they hung it in a perfect spot. I am very happy for you and I'm sorry to all those of you that didn't get to see it firsthand. You sure deserved those ribbons. There were some great quilts there and I even got to see my friend Kathy Buirge while there. She's with the Valley Quilters Guild. Do you know her? Again, your quilt was just wonderful!
