Update

I now can cut fabric while sitting down........even fussy cut, no less. Thanks, Mz Polly, for suggesting it.

Today, we took the back-up SM (garage sale, Kenmore w/cams) for a 'can you fix it' to a local fella and 3 hours later he called to say it was finished! What was really neat is he took one look at it and told me what was going on! He is a real treasure and an "old school craftsman" who takes real pride in his work. It was a $20.00 service fee, + $20.00 to fix it and no parts were necessary. Tomorrow, we pick it up.

He even suggested writing Pfaff and seeing if they make knee pedals for Phoebe. He'd be happy to install it for me if they do. If not, he will take a look at her and see if he can come up with a way to get me back sewing.

Every so often, you find a 'gem'.

I have a local guy who does the "old school" non-computerized machines only, and the pawn shops call him when something comes in. He is a college professor by trade, this is a hobby, but his workshop betrays his true love.

Wow! That is great B'fly. Having a sewing machine guru is a wonderful thing. A guy has surfaced here that is getting back into sewing machine repair. He has done some work with the guilds and many or our machines. He worked on my serger and an old Bernina that are both humming away happily now. He charges $85.00 though. Treasure that gem you found! Taria
