Volunteer needed....

to proof-read block instructions I have written and need to duplicate for my Guild meeting Monday night. This is Block #1 of a BOM -- for quilters who enjoy both piecing and appliqué. Will advise that you should probably be an advanced beginner at least -- because the directions are not 100% step-by-step. But hopefully clear enough to make sense anyway.

So if you want to make a block -- or just read through my handout with a very critical eye -- please let me know and I'll email you a copy.

The one thing I debated on -- is using + 7/8 or +1 for Squares that need to be cut diagonally. I have decided to go ahead with the full 1 inch -- with reminders to square up and trim.

I spent the day first sewing the block -- then writing the instructions. Now I'm ready for bed. I've looked at it too much to see any errors at this point.

Thanks....

I'll happily read it for you Kate. Don't' know whether I'll have time to actually sew it, but I'll do the crucial bits. . In message , Kate in MI writes

I'm game!! I'll put my old proofreading/technical writing skills to work for you. It would be fun to talk to my 5th graders about proofreading -- they have a state writing test at the end of the month. I'll probably make the block too. I'm just sitting here watching the Rose Bowl Parade and periodically glancing out the window to observe our latest snow falling.

Thanks for the opportunity.

Thanks to all of you for offering the extra set of eyes. As this is a BOM with 12 different blocks... I may be posting again next month unless my volunteers here want to spend the year with me.

I love BOM's. Generally not too difficult to get 1 block done in a month and because you don't have the patterns to continue -- it forces you to just take is slow.

Maybe we should do a BOM here sometime?
