What are you 'Collecting For' quilt-wise?

Since we're rather quiet--usual summer occurence-- I thought I'd ask.

What are YOU collecting for:

WUH's (10X9 or larger)

1 Veggies: Avocados 2 Candy: Licorice (red 'sticks') and all over M&M's (no characters please) 3 Desserts: Cupcakes--individual so I can sut each out

Willing to trade in same catagories--what do you need? Have a large collection as I've been collecting for a long time in these areas. FTR: my fabric has mainly been from LQS's

I'm not collecting, B'fly. Sometimes something just wraps itself around me and clings tenaciously and I have to pay for it and bring it home. However. Your 'all over M&Ms' made me smile. I had a co-worker who had 'all over' bifocals. She wanted close-up lenses for her work glasses that worked top-to-bottom of her computer monitor. She called them her all over bifocals. Made sense to us. NOT the optometrist - but what do they know? Polly

I have the m&n fabric and would be happy to send it to you.

I have some cupcakes but they are teeny ti-iny. Does size matter (hey, no snickering!)

Remember, I'm pretty new at all this! Please translate for me. WUH's? FTR's? I do know (or can figure out) the LQS. Thanks. Twila

Sorry, Butterfly, not collecting anything.

I have been on 'the great project' for so long (18 months almost) that my other pieces are piled up in my cupboard: patterns ready, fabric collected, just waiting for me to get the urge to start again!

I will tell you about one set though: last year I had great success with a trellis full of sweet peas. The colours were glorious. I have long wanted to make a Lone Star quilt. I had a vase of the sweet peas in the house, so I brought it into my sewing room and simply matched the colours. That is going to be one extremely pretty quilt, and I can hardly wait! . Ah! Thanks for your patience Polly. I handed the final pieces in to the church on 29 June. I suppose it is (technically) 17 months! The reception, by the parish priest and the congregation was more than I could have hoped for. Even several of the men expressed their delight. I think it was because I had kept everything very simple and unambitious in design. The photographs I took in the house here were not good. So, I plan to go over and get a key to go into the church when no-one else is there, and photograph the whole set. There will be much better light there. When I've done that, I'll put them on my Flickr site and let you have the url. . In message , Polly Esther writes

I don't doubt it. Just to be truly helpful, I looked on my 'recipients' file and see that there are 3 addresses for her. ( Do ya think she's hiding from jealous wives?) Polly

Oh dear, thanks Miz Polly..I sent this with Marcella's offer attached as the private response I sent to her won't go thru.

The private response to Miz Cindy is still on its way.

Will keep you all posted when this gets results.

Thanks again

Butterfly (still can't beleve no one has a specific 'collection' going--wonder if I should have included 'books')

Shoot, and I've always put my real e-mail in my profile and only a few years ago added "extra" to munge it a very little bit. If I look on my posts at google it says I'm posting from snipped-for-privacy@extra.peek.org which if you get rid of the extra. should work a treat.

The mysteries of computers.

You can always contact me through my blog

formatting link
which should also give you a very good idea of my e-mail address :-)

Of course Butterfly's address up top says " snipped-for-privacy@cox.net" and in taking out the word dash but leaving the symbol that bounces too. It's all a mystery to me!
