Where is everybody?

Is this a slow day or am I not connecting with the current page of conversations? Just wondering...

School is starting! :)

Classes at the college where I work started there last Wed; the k-12 grades around here start next week. Lots of parents are rather busy right now :)

I think it's just slow - this is the first time I've been at my computer since around noon, and that's pretty unusual for me. Hopefully everybody's busy quilting!

Christmas tree skirts are underway here. Spent a couple of hours turning through books and magazines for inspiration. HoooBoy! am I ever inspired. Decisions to be made include: round or something else? how can the Grinch be 'there' but not the main element. Later we'll have to decide how much is too much. Or not. Polly

Been working on a Puzzle Quilt all day. Trying to make sure all the peices fit. Required more thinking then I thought.

But am using my new cutting matt. Went to a garage sale over the weekend and for $3 bought a 28" X 56" Sew/Fit matt. It was like new, perhaps used one time. Bought some cheap plywood and had it cut to the correct dimension. Covered the board in green linen that I got for $1.50. ;) Then stapled my new Sew/ Fit onto the whole thing.

What a difference! Going from this little cutting table to one that is really usuable and fun!

Still here. Selsey Quilt Show was a great success!

Although this seems to be a predominately US group (and why not), did anyone of our UK readers attend our show? Just a little market research for the future :-)

Best wishes to you all!

August Bank Holiday here in the UK: 3 day weekend! We're probably all busy doing other things. I had a couple of girlfriends over for the whole weekend and we SEWED! Making 18th C kit and a Demis Roussos outfit, plus a Princess Tiger Lily outfit for a LARP event! Fun, but not quilting! Though it turned out that the MAGNIFICENT quilted leather coat I saw at the NEC was made by one of my friends friends from el Swear. ;)

Well, I haven't been getting many messages for a while. Reading through google groups, for various reasons.

Was off line for a bit, my monitor went out. Back up monitor is sort of okay, but DH says the video "card" on the motherboard of my computer is also going away. So...... new monitor, new computer is on order. And yesterday he had a dozen yellow roses (my favorite!) delivered, complete with one "forever" gold rose in the midst. He is a sweetie. He also has me now subscribed to Carbonite..... an offsite automatic backup service. So that I won't lose any of my work in EQ and such.

I think I will definitely keep him.
