Am I the only person on the planet who DOESN'T have a die-cutting machine?

Sure I covet one... but I'm never going to be able to justify the cost. I thought it was a big investment to buy a colluzzle and some templates to cut stuff out manually! Anybody else out there die-cutter deprived?

I was for a long time. I really can't see me using a Cricut even now. I'm not really into die cuts. I do so many different things one die cut pattern say of a tree wouldn't get used much. I'd need one tree and that would be it. At the RCS retreat a few years ago I got acqainted with the Side kick for fonts. I really like it. I got the Sidekick system a few years ago. I use it only for cutting out fonts. I got a couple different Sizzlet fonts for $20 back then from Costco. Every now and then I'll look at other fonts thinking I need another and they are over $50 each. So I stick with what I have. I don't know how I got such a good deal before. I find having fonts is a really big help. I do need letters for titles. In the past I printed them on the computer mostly. I have cut a few out by hand. I use the Sizzlet now.

If my girls and hubby had not bought me a Cricut for Christmas a couple of years ago, I would not have one either... I also bought a used Sizzix (Small one recently). I think I will use both more in a few months when I have my scrapbooking/craft room set up once again.... There are some things I really like to have as die cuts... trees and other stuff like that are not as necessary as words/titles for me... Although I really do like my Cricut....even though it would not have been my first choice at the time.... I have managed to get six extra cartridges and I do love them.... I can hardly wait to play with all my new toys again in my scrapbook room.

About 2 or 3 years ago our Wonderful Dave gave Jessica and I a sizzix, which still gets used. I do have a cricut I bought from Our Dorothy about 8 months ago maybe and I love it. Up above Lynne talks about "one die cut of a tree wouldn't get used much" which is true. I don't buy my cartidges for pictures. I buy font cartidges. I LOVE how my titling looks now and I have so many choices.

I'd recommend dropping hints to loved ones, year after year til you get a system, the one you covet and/or start a coin jar.

P.S.

Of everyone I know personally who scraps/cards/ATCs I am the only one who has a cutting system. (I even possess the one I share with Jessica).

I love weekend retreats as they often have die cut systems. Last time

2 and a half days, I spent my half day just cutting with the die cuts to take home... and the next time I go I'll go to "the big house" where they have even more die cuts to choose from YIPPEE.

so if you can find something like that in or within a hundred miles of your area, that could be a great choice as well.
