Calling all FLASSES.....What is on your MUST HAVE list now????

I think we have done a wonderful job with the thread on Flass confessions. It's been fun reading and participating in that one...Thank you MC! Now I wonder how many of the Flass Community actually makes of list of "MUST HAVE" items and hunts them down. Do you create a "Wish List"? Do you TRY to "save up" for these purchases? Or do you just throw caution to the wind and "Go for it!"?

I for one have been eyeing the "Funky Brush" sizzlets. I've only seen them on the Sizzix website and I don't want to pay for the shipping..........so, I am really hoping that they will be available at Expo this coming week. When MC and I were at Scrapbook Expo in May the booth had a special....if you bought a set of sizzlets alphabet, you got the carrier (a $50 value) free. I'm really hoping they are running this special at Expo as well. The only other think I think I plan to stock up on is the Xyron refills for my X box. They are about

50 cents to a dollar less at Expo. still haven't used up all that I bought in May but if I have more on hand I won't have to limit how much I use my X. And with Sizzlets....I'll be going through more of that adhesive...believe me! S

Next...................

I don't keep a "formal" wish list but there is ALMOST always something I'm desirous of.

Great new thread, Susan!

There is nearly always one item that I really, really want to get and then there is everything else. I really wanted the Sisslet doodle dies. I waited for a while and decided to go for those via ebay, which as you know is not my usual route. I researched for a month or so and tried a couple of auctions. In the end I paid about $13.08 per set which is far better than the $19.95 at the LSS.

But most of my buying is fairly spur of the moment. I recently went shopping, all over OK, with my NSSSF's list in hand and that was rather fun. I have come to the conclusion however that I would save a lot of money if I took the pictures and then bought for a specific layout (LO) for those pictures.

I have bought so many quotes (I love those things) that I am now going to put together a BOM that includes many of the quotes that I bought. Seems to make sense since I bought them because they resonated with my feelings about things.

So in short, I usually buy on the spur of the moment just cause something catches my eye and I "think" that I'll use it, but that is not really the way it often works out!

Well, before this week--when I was RAK'D by my MIL and recieved the Ultimate Organizational Kit From Cropper Hopper and QVC (AWESOME!); I just wanted a table for my front room, pale blue paint, and a working ceiling fan and my scrapping area would be complete. Now another kit would be great because just the photo boxes from Cropper Hopper that come in the kit would be the same cost as the kit itself. It is a neverending circle, you get something new and you need more stuff to go with it. Oh and TIME is now on my must have list!

I hear you loud and clear on that one! I keep telling myself that if I would just go sit down to scrap instead of reading the group, I'd get so much more done. But then, that would be like telling me I could never spend time with my friends! S

What's different about the doodle dies?? I don't think I've ever seen/heard of them. S

I just started this summer and finished a summer scrapbook for my grand-daughter. Now, I've started her a new one, gotten a new grand-daughter and started hers, and one for a daughter, and there's more to come. So the thing I need most right now is albums! I've got layouts in one of those plastic things for all 3 books but am waiting to find a really good deal.

Next, I want some of those oval cutting things. Those are cool. I got a scissors for edging but it's a cheapie and doesn't work that good, so I'd like another. I've not used eyelets yet....good grief, there's so much I want to try!

Great thread Susan! Got me to thinking...and is it bad when you're not sure what you have anymore? But I also have an excuse...my scrapping stuff is packed. :-( But, off the top of my head I can think of some of my wish list.

  1. Dies to go with my Sizzix that DH bought me off ebay for Mother's Day. He knew how much I wanted one and bought me one, but wasn't sure which dies I would want. How sweet....now I just need dies. I KNOW I want at least one alphabet, or two, but the LSS here just doesn't carry a lot of Sizzix. Good thing I'll be able to find Sizzix stuff in LR!!! *big smile*

  1. Organizational containers, trays, bins, etc. I just need a way to organize all my shtuff!

Those are my top two desires. After that, well, eyelets are always good, brads, I absolutely love Jolee's and those kind of things. I try to buy specific items for a specific layout, but it doesn't always work out that way. I have discovered that I absolutely HATE being in the middle of a layout and realizing I need something for it! argh! So if I'm not careful, I'm going to become a "just because it looks good" shopper. LOL

Check out ebay. I saved A LOT of money getting my alphabets there. First I went to Michael's and go their price after a 40% coupon then bid on dies on ebay. I made sure that I wasn't paying more (including shipping) for them thru ebay than I could get them at Michael's. I actually saved about $20 - $30 more going the ebay way. I was fortunate to have found someone (must have been a retailer) that was selling the alphabet, numbers and punctuation for each of the sets and they shipped them all at once. Sometimes you can get a really good deal ont he "buy it now". Good luck choosing your alphabet! I have 2 full size and 2 sets of sizzlets so far....I plan to buy another set of sizzlets at Expo this week too. S

Janet...what kind of albums do you prefer? What size, etc.? I've recently helped my DD do an 8X8 album and it was a really good size. I work on 12X12 most of the time. Which Oval cutter are you wanting? Eyelets are fun! I like to use them on tags. S

They are the same size as the sizzlet alphabets but they are cute small diecuts. I just put a Xmas card I made a couple of days ago using them, on my webshot account under misc it.

cutter are you wanting?

I did Skylar's first album in 8 1/2 x11 and so am keeping that going for her, it's an easier size for her to handle. Baby Emily's and my daughter Jennifers will by 12x12, since I've already got a number of layouts done.

As far as the oval cutter set, I'm not sure. Earlier people mentioned Coluzzle and the Creative Memories ones but I haven't seen them so don't really know. Next time I get a chance I'll stop by the local scrapping store and see if they have some I can use. That will tell me more than anything.

Ok, well, the thing that I am MOST desirous of is...

TIME.

I have the toys; I have paper; I have pictures; I have pens; and I even have a notebook of thoughts to journal when I get to those events.

I need time to do them!

If anyone knows a retailer who can provide me that in big chunks, I'd be willing to pay for it! ;-)

Hmmm... I couldn't find time either when I was working, so hubby paid for a maid... and I had more time, LOL!!! Didn't last long though and hubby always laughed at me cause he said that I cleaned up for the maid! I didn't really, just tidied up some.
