Christmas Card Challenge Rules 2009

Figure out how many Christmas cards you'll need for December 2009 plus a few extra for those surprise occasions or new friends you'll meet this year. Then divide the total number by 11. I want to make 50 cards. I divided it by 11 and rounded up as I didn't want to come up short and I'll make a minimum of 5 cards a month. By December I'll have at least 55 cards to send out.

They don't all have to be Christmas cards either. Other qualifying cards can be Chanukah and/or Kwanza. This year I'll have a Jewish friend. So, I thought I'd make her a special card.

All you have to do is complete your challenge number of cards every month up to and including November and you should have plenty of cards to send out for the holidays!!

To make the challenge interesting I'm going to put together a Stamping/Scrapping gift. For anyone who posts that their cards as done each month, uploads a picture each month of the challenge and makes 3 or more cards I'll put you in a drawing for the gift. I have all year to make it really interesting. The drawing will be done around December 1st as November's challenge cards should be posted by November 30th. You don't have to join the challenge now, but only people who post their challenge as done each month will qualify for the drawing.

Starting January 1st... three or more challenge cards need to be done, posted as done and picture upload for viewing by January 31st midnight Pacific Standard Time. Each month will have the same deadline. Begin on the first day and end on the last day of the month. That doesn't mean you can't be extra crafty one month and do 2 months at once. Just make sure you post that challenge as done in the month you want them to qualify. Also you must complete 9 out of the 11 months. I know sh*$ happens. Computer doesn't work... camera won't work... just don't have time. Relax knowing you have 2 months during the year to throw your hands up and say, "Oh screw it."

The idea is NOT to stress. If you need to skip a month or two, that is perfectly fine. Remember, the whole idea behind this challenge is to make life easier and that should be prize enough if you make this choice.

Make your cards any way you like - make 100 of the same card 10 at a time or make a different set of 10 each month or make each card completely different and unique. You decide, these are your cards. They should be how you want them to be. Then each month when you complete your cards, upload your photos and post a message. I've found it's best to post your message with the title for example "Lynne's January CCC". Insert your name where mine is. That way you'll have a unique title and your post won't get lost under someone else's post. This way I can keep track of everyone's progress more easily for the drawing for the gift.

This is not a swap... just a way to get your cards done BEFORE December.

Looking forward to us all getting our cards done early this year. Feel free to email me if you have any questions.

Ready, Set, Go,

Lynne

HI.

I would like to try this as cards are easier than layouts. I will try for 3 a month of Christmas Cards, peppered in with other holiday/ birthday cards should a creative slump hit.

I am SOOOO totally going to participate in this this year!!! Come heck or high water, LOL. Count me in. 5 cards a month really aren't that many, and I think the twins will allow me a little bit of free time now that they are bigger (6 months old, can you believe it?!).

We also have Jewish friends, good idea about the Hanukkah card! And my in-laws are Hindu, so a few Diwali cards may be forthcoming as well! :-)

I am going to do 5 holiday cards a month. I want to send out a few Thanksgiving cards to family this year so that will be included in my holiday cards challenge this year. I am looking forward to playing again!!

I want to play this time too please. I made my own Christmas cards this year too, but they were made on the computer, still a lot of work, and fun. I will need to make at least 5 a month.

Yeah - I am so glad we're doing this again!

And even though I "dropped out" toward the end, it was so helpful to have a jump on my cards.

I'll try 10/month again. :)

AND - if you don't mind, I have a challenge in mind already for January.

I am definitely in and going for 5 cards a month. That worked perfectly last year.

I will probably stick to my 10 a month like I did last year. That seemed to work for me.

Tammy you will like doing this challenge. I like seeing everyone's ideas they came up with, and when Jessica offers an extra challenge to go along with it, it only makes it more interesting, and you don't get bored doing the same thing.

Lynne and All,

Ok, I too am in and am ready to commit to doing 10 Christmas Cards a month... I also have a goal to make at least 15 other types of cards each month. 8 of these are currently for our Stamp Club Swap, so that leaves me 7 at least for use right away.

I also have committed as a goal to scrap book at least the challenged LO plus at least 5 more each month.

I have already started with my cards. I have made 8 (for the stamp club swap) and will upload them on Jan. 31.... I want them to be a surprise.
