Christmas in July

The card for heroes project had a Christmas in July challenge... so I made them a bazillion cards. Not actually that many, but it felt like it! lol I spent a few days cutting up my supply of old christmas cards so they could be recycled into new ones - I try to get as many cards as I can from one card front, because just glueing one front onto a card feels like cheating to me! The most I managed so far was a cute card of reindeer holding up a christmas sign. I cut each deer out individually and cut the letter out of their sign so I can reuse the word - then I glued some gold paper behind the sign and put a tiny 'happy christmas' onto it, so I could make four cute reindeer cards instead of one! Of course me being me, each reindeer card is individual...

And more recycled cards...

I also made some more stencilled cards. I cut the words out with my coluzzle and then I used double-sided tape to stick the letters onto the card so I could ink over them with my stamp pads. Each word makes half a dozen cards before it gets too soggy with ink to reuse. This is a really fun way to make cards, and very quick and easy once you've got the lettering cut out, so I'll probably do more of them.

And a few oddments... I made embossed cards last week and I did a few seperate embellishments at the same time.

There are a bazillion other cards in this folder too... I'm not going to link every page individually because it would take too long, but I've made 50 christmas cards in total, no two of them EXACTLY the same. feel free to admire, comment, and to borrow all the ideas for designs that you want to!

Those are beautiful. You spent a lot of time on them. Great job!

Not really actually! Recycled cards are fairly quick to make... It took an evening and a morning to make 20 cards. And those stencilled cards are QUICK once you've done the initial work of cutting out the stencils. That took forever but you can reuse each one a bunch of times before it breaks.
