Christmas Joy!

DH was able to get off at noon on Christmas Eve, so we decided to surprise MIL and go up early. She wasn't expecting us until sometime around lunch on Christmas Day, simply because we weren't sure DH would actually get off at noon on Christmas Eve. Well, since the bassett furbaby was being boarded at the vets' and since the vet's was on the way out of town to MIL's.....it just seemed fitting to go up early. It was worth surprising MIL, though. She wasn't expecting it, and we made her Christmas.

We brought our gifts with us and unwrapped them at MIL's. My parents sent DH & I a set of Wolfgang Puck knives (with rack), which DH is falling in love with. He's dieing to be able to use the dremel I got him for kitbashing Transformers. As usual, DH spoiled me with new movies, 3 PC games, a pair of really pretty pale blue earrings, and..........the SU Big Shot!!!!!!!! I was so excited I squeeled. LOL I was NOT expecting the Big Shot, but I've been wanting it for months. And yes, I played with it at MIL's! No one knew what it was, but I played anyways. LOL Guess what we'll be using at Stamp Club in January. LOL

My Mom, the talented woman she is, sewed a baby doll christening gown for DD. It's absolutely gorgeous! Along with that, she made DD a mattress and pillow for the babydoll cradle my Dad made me when I was a girl. It will now go to DD, and she'll have a special place for her new babydoll dress, mattress, and pillow. Mom made DS the cutest 'bear rug' out of flannel! The 'head' is a pillow so he can lay down on his 'bear rug' and read. For a bit, he thought it was a real bear, but then he realized there wasn't any place for claws and decided it's not a real bear. LOL Bit it's the cutest little bear rug, and he has it on his bed along with all the other quilts from Mom. :-)

One of my favorite things about Christmas this year was seeing DD's face when she pulled out her "ticket" for Tale of Desperaux out of her stocking. It's her absolutely most favorite book, and she's been dieing to see the movie. I downloaded a movie party 'ticket' template, simply added the movie title to it, and printed it out on cardstock. She immediately put 2 and 2 together and realized she was going to get to see the movie. Her and I have read the book, so we went to see it yesterday. We're waiting for my sister to go see it, who's the one who introduced DD to the book in the first place, and then DD and my sister will get to talk all about the differences. But seeing DD's face when she saw the ticket, then watching her at the movie yesterday....just priceless. Definately a LO to come, which will go in her album.

When we got home on Saturday afternoon, there was a package waiting for us at the front door. It was from my SS Dorothy! In it I found a great little travel bag filled with goodies! Dorothy sent me:

a package of retractable erasers (now to keep DD out of them so they don't find their way to school LOL) Around the Block mini antiquing took kit (pink, lime & purple ink colors) Around the Block Shrinky Stickers (pink alphabet stickers, epoxy kind....going to be fun!) Around the Block magnifying glass frames (these are going to be SO cool, and I haven't seen them before) Around the Block clipper and word clips (I have a clipper and some clips, but they're not word clips and I'm discovering I'm a quote/word floozy too.) Around the Block mini funnell tray (just the right size for beads and other little projects) green Slick Writer (which I don't have any of, so this is new to me..WOOHOO!) We R Memory Keepers boho chic note cards (I'm seeing all kinds of cards with these!) a portable Dot-O-Rama travel game in a tin and a really pretty Christmas card

The dot travel game is going to go in my purse for all those doctor visits, travel time, etc when I need to keep myself & DH/kids occupied. LOL But once the game pad is full, the tin is mine for altering! Muwahahaha!

Now comes the hard part, finding a place to put everything! LOL
