The directions are right there beside the picture of the ball telling exactly how to make. It should answer all your questions.

This is a great ball and thanks for the instructions. You did a great job with yours, Lynne. Wish I hadn't threw all those old cards out from last year :( Oh well, now I know.

Any dollartrees around you.... you can get cards there. OR something I want to try this year... rubber stamp on plain circles and make the ball.

Thats a great idea Lynne. Thanks!

I would love to have a Dollar Tree or even a Dollar Store! No such luck though.

Thanks for posting the directions. I had been wanting to make ornaments for place cards for my Christmas dinner. I'll probably put on on the center of each plate and all of my family members will have one to bring home. I think I'll use the Christmas Basic Grey sets and just mix up all the papers.

That sounds like a great idea Jenn! I found using my CM circle cutter a real help in getting my circles cut out quickly and easily. I also cut out a triangle to trace on the back of each circle to make it easier to fold each circle quickly. Can you tell I had an assembly line going last year. :)

I thought of using mine for that also. I nearly got rid of it a short while ago, but I think I'll be glad I still have it.

I also cut out

That's a great tip, thanks.

Piggybacking off of my own post here...

Ok, so I tried one of these last night. I actually used the glittery Christmas Stack by DCWV. However, it came out more oblong than round because the triangle in the middle of each circle wasn't a perfect triangle and my folded pieces weren't uniform. I made a template, but it wasn't perfect obviously. How did you get a good triangle? I'm not good with angles apparently.

What type of glue did you use? I used a two-way adhesive because it's what I grabbed but obviously taht wasn't a good idea, because by the time I got it glued, the glue was in it's "removeable" state. I think I'll use some mod podge with a foam brush next time.

I'm just stuck on that perfect triangle so everything matches up. Otherwise, they are very, very cool. I was thinking of buying a basic grey ornament set and using those as templates to make a variety of styles in volume.

You're right the perfect triangle is necessary. I just knew it needed to me an equilateral triangle (a triangle in which all three sides have equal lengths.) So, using one of the circles to experiment on and a ruler I drew several until I got the one that fit. I have to say I'm pretty protective of my triangle template. haha I know exactly where it is right now. It took me a while to get it right, but you have it like you said the ornament is easy. I used Scrappy glue on mine. I think an Elmer's would work just fine. One has to hold it in place a few seconds to adhere and not slip. It goes pretty quickly if you don't put too much glue on.

Well, by the time I just got this message I seem to have got it all worked out. I make an equilateral triangle (not all that easy!) and made a template out of chipboard. Instead of the mod podge I've also been using the scrappy glue. I hadn't used mine in a while and it was real gummy. I think it's flowing better now though. I like it because it has a near-instant bond. Both of my kids are home sick today so I've had a chance to make three of them. Thanks for the suggestions.

Guess what?? Martha has a kit for these ornaments at Michaels! $15 for 20 ornaments. They are all cut out for you. I wonder if they have a triangle template for the folding?
