Crop last night, the rudness!!

Well, I went with the girl from the office again last night to crop at the LSS. I had called and reserved 2 spots, (it's free to crop but you have to reserve) I did this on Tuesday. We got there a little after 6pm (starts at

6 runs to midnight), about 6:15. We picked out 2 tables, they were right across from each other, unloaded some of our things then decided to shop a little. We walked back in the room and there was a very LOUD argument over the fact that 10 friends couldn't sit together and people saying, "if we can't sit together I'm going home", ect. Cindy and I were TOLD to move by one of the other croppers so they could sit all together, we would not have been together. I politely, yes I was actually polite, told them that we would not move. This woman had the nerve to come and stand over me and demand that I move. I again politely told her no, she should speak with the manager as I thought that they had over booked and it would be straighted out. The owners husband was working (she took the night off, gee I wonder why! there's always a problem when this one woman showes up, according to the other croppers) so he took roll, then set up tables on the store floor. Peace then reined in the crop room! I couldn't believe the nerve of that other woman!!

Anyway, I saw Deb briefly as she stopped by to pick up my sizzix machine and a set of alphabets for her crop today. Cindy completed a calander for next year. I'd brought stamps and ink for her to use. I completed 11 pages. Now I must confess that I did several that were very simple but I did manage to get some done. Yeah me!! I used some "kits" I'd put together last week.

I am scanning some of the pages I've done since the first of the year as well as some that I did last year but never scanned. I needed to do this so I can put them in the safety deposit box in case something happens to the house, I can at least have them printed out so I haven't lost everything. When I get them scanned I'll post them.

LOL! So she is still there! She was there the few times that I ventured to their crop last year all by my lonesome! It really didn't give me a warm and cozy feeling! Like you she wanted me to move, as I was alone I did, but I felt like the poor relation. I went back a couple of times, but never found it to be a happy place to crop!

Hope you have better luck next time. As for all the pages done, Good for you!!!!

Big hugs, M-C

Oh Kenda - Sorry it was such a frustrating experience. Good for you for being both polite AND standning your ground. Rudeness and lack of common courtesy is one of my largest pet peeves, and politeness seems to be on the decline. I recently read on a church readerboard "Courtesy is contagious," which I try to live by.

Glad peace finally reigned!

I guess she never learned to "play well with others." It is a shame that the owner's husband (who probably set up the crop tables the first place) had to reARRANGE everything so the PRINCESS could get her way.

This gets my "Irish" riled up and I wasn't even there. Then again I'm over protective of my friends in this board.

Maybe you and M-C should go to the next one and sit dead center (facing eachother) in the princess' table and then hot-glue yourselves to the chairs. Bring Friends and sit every other chair. That should break up the princess' click. LOL

Yes she's still there!! LOL However, she wasn't there the last time. This is the 3rd time we've gone and the 2nd time she's been there. She did however tone it down after I asked her to speak with the manager. It really depends on who is there as to whether it's a happy place to crop. There are many women who are there every time and some it seems like every other time. I'm sure we'll have better luck if we go back. We seriously are thinking of not going back....too much tension with the nasty woman. (and to think that people are on their best behavior when in public! imagine how she is at home!)

It's okay Jessica, only frustrating until she realized we weren't moving. lol Though I must admit that it was hard to be both polite and standing my ground. I'm not usually polite, its the new me I've been working on for almost a year....it really throws people off, especially those that know me really well! LOL

ROFL Kate!! That is too funny about hot gluing ourselves in place! No, I don't believe she learned to play well with others. She's not a very nice person. But it will eventually come back around to her.

Wow, I'm sorry you had such a bad experience. It's so sad when one person ruins an event for everyone. Maybe if you talked to the shop owner about this women, she could talk to her. I'm sure you aren't the only one that has had a run in with her. If the shop owner knew that she was driving her customers away I'm sure she would do something about it.

Good advise but since I don't make the crops on a regular basis right now I'm not going to say anything. Though if she mentions them while I'm in shopping I will mention it to her then.

Sounds like the princess there needs an additude adjustment. LOL I hope the next one is more peaceful! Maybe the next time around, I'll be able to be there, too.
