Curiosity question

Do you folks ever do your scrapping with stuff other than photos? My MIL had a book and it contained things like ticket stubs, menus, matchbook covers, newspaper clippings -- that kind of memorabilia other than photos. Any particular techniques for using those? TY.

Hi,

I did a LO with tickets only. There was great story and we had such a good time I though it deserve a spot in the scrapbook. We went to see the Sacramento Monarchs play. I got their logo from their website and did a paper piecing.

I always include my tickets, stubs, newspaper clippings, pamphets etc into my LO's with the pictures , , with brochures , I like to make a pocket or use photo corners so it can be taken out and looked at the put back in.. sometimes for events where cameras aren't allowed, I actually cut up brochures, pamphelts , fliers etc to scrap the event in place of photos

Hi June- I use memorabilia in my layouts - sometimes the real item tucked in a corner or behind a photo poking out. you can buy Memorabilia Pockets

Lynne - I'd love to see that! I am a huge fan of the Seattle Storm. (Sorry about the playoffs - we still love Edna Campbell here though!)

I hope you go again next year - the WNBA needs support!

I want to do some Layouts with the Storm.

Thanks,

Jes

I haven't done many LO's yet with memoribilia - haven't gotten to that pile of stuff since I started this hobby...;)

But I am always saving stuff from trips, games, plays, anything I think I might want to scrapbook.

Collecting all those odds and ends seems like an extension of the addiction!

A friend called me from a Golden Retriever Benefit and said she was manning a table with some Monarch tickets and nobody was really bidding on them and would I be interested in going 1/2 with her. There were 4 tickets. She said they had to be good seats, because everything donated to the cause was top notch. I said yes. She got the 4 tickets for $75. Off we went to the game with our daughters. Our tickets were right on the floor! It was SO exciting and SO scary... those balls whizzing at our faces.

Heh. I think the addiction is the collecting/saving of those bits and the organizing into a scrapbook is the extension of it. :-) Or was, back in the old days of scrapbooking, before Creative Memories made it a billion dollar industry.

I'm just getting ready to embark on a massive scrapbook, my three month trip, but I have layouts that are not going to involve a photo, but will include a fair bit of journalling and various memorabilia. I am going to attempt to make a pocket to store these items in, one that people can then pull the item they want to see out.

Not sure what other techniques I am going to try yet tho.
