Die cutter question

Hi group,

I have a 50% off coupon for Michaels burning a hole in my pocket. I would like to get a die cutter, but with a few on the market, I don't know which one to go for.

The kinds of dies available to it are not import to me. I would like a machine that can use everyone's dies though.

I like the idea of the BigKick Sizzix because I want to use large pieces of paper.

The other ones I have seen at Michaels are the Cuttlebug and the Cuttlebug kids. I don't know if the Cuttlebug kids would be an all right beginner die cutter.

I have also heard of the Spellbinder die cutter, and have seen it demoed, but it's not for sale at Michaels.

Thanks, Christine

Cuttlebug for kids is definitely for kids. My grandchildren have one and it's safe for them and that's just what it's made for...safe for children. Not for long-term scrapbooking use. I have a regular Sizzix where you pull down the handle. It was great for the first one I used, but I now have the Cuttlebug and love it. I have not found a die that won't work with it...except for the really big ones. I just use my Sizzix for bottle caps now. Kind of expensive smasher, but hey, since I own it ......... One thing that I would not give on when choosing a die cutter is the rolling handle. Makes a big difference in speed and ease of use.

My opinion, Sandy
