Do you remember the first layout you ever made?

I'm wondering if you all remember the first layout you ever made? I made my first one for the brand new CM passport album. I figured out of all the albums and layouts I could do, a travel one would be the easiest! My first layout was a bit Mickey Mousy! You see it was about a trip I took to Walt Disney World a week after my wedding to my wonderful DH. Only, I took the trip with my Matron of Honor, while the groom stayed home! Strange, but true, LOL! The layout is all done in red and black on of course a white background.

So won't you tell us about the first LO you ever did?

Oh, it was terrible. I went to a CM thing at a friend's house. I was told to take 4-6 photos with me. I picked some from when we went to the Naval Museum in Pensacola. It was REALLY fancy! LOL Not really, but I thought I was so creative using 2 different colors of those triangle thingies and some star stickers. I even used the corner rounder on some of the pics. I knew nothing about journaling so it's all crooked and wobbly and boring. I will NEVER change it because I want to be able to see how I've changed over the years.

Yes I remember my first LO! I did the "Many Famous Poses of Jeff" (my DH). The one picture I used I cut off his feet. I used stencil letters and colored them in with color pencils. Used a star frame for another picture that isn't cut out evenly. I was looking at it the other day and laughing. I have imporved some since then. LOL!

Sounds like you studied scrapbooking before you started, LOL. By that I mean that it sounds like a beautiful well planned layout! Cecelia described my first scrapping experience perfectly, LOL!

You're really going to make me think about it????? My first CM party - where else??? I took a package of pictures from my grandmother's 83 birthday party to the CM party. Did a page there - all oval and rectangles with corners rounded, matted and lots of stickers. Took home enought stuff to do two more pages exactly the same. My sister and I scrapped almost every night for the entire summer. Bought tons of stickers and paper - then I bought a magazine.................need I say more? Sandy

Hey Cecelia that sounds exactly like how my first page came about and what it looked like! hahaha

I've thought about redoing it many times, but have decided to leave it as is. That way I can see how far I've come. :)

I friend of mine had just started scrapbooking (she'd been bit by the Cm bug) and I was going to be spending the weekend at her house. She told me that she had invited someone else over to scrapbook, I should bring some photos.

So, I grabbed some from a recent trip to New Orleans.

Now - don't hate me for admitting this - but up until this point I thought of "scrapbooking" in such a way as very cheesy, so I wasn't really thrilled by the notion, but I was game.

So, her friend came over, and my friend handed me a CM book, some short cuts and stickers. And, well, I had a blast.

My first layout was of the alligator tour we'd taken, so I made an alligator jaw with some of the short cuts.

The page is really fairly simple,. very little detail. Now, I love to embellish and decorate. It's great to see how our styles change over time.

And of course, needless to say. I've been addicted ever since!

Oh boy do I ever remember that! My first page was also the first page in a Christmas album...so the whole album is sort of like it. I used the decorative scissors to cut and corner rounders, cut my pictures in shapes, used stickers and sticker alphs. I love that album because it borders on tacky!! LOL I had so many years of Christmas pictures that I decided that would be my first project. My DD who introduced me to SBing bought me a Christmas album of a weird size and I worked furiously for days ,happily putting Santas and holly and candy canes....It is a riot! I had many years of various kids sitting on Santa's laps and I just ran amok LOL I do love that album but I don't show it off much! My style has changed so in the five years I've been scrapping that it hardly seems like the same person did that little book!

Well, mine was not that long ago - October last year - so I'm sure in years to come, I'll even cringe more than now..lol! I think the biggest thing that changed for me, is that I'm faaaaar more comfortable trimming the pictures and papers. I was SO scared to make a mistake in the beginning, that it took me forever to decide what to do!

My first layout is the best one I have ever done. Long before a single thing was placed upon it I had read every magazine I could find, viewed probably a thousand layouts on the web and planned it out for about a month before I ever started. After that I realized that I just couldn't spend 6 months on a single page layout so it has all been downhill since then.

My first lo was of my first dd when she was born. The pictures are cut out with patterened scissors-which I since don't do! The lo is done on white paper, it's a little plain but really shows how my style has changed! Barb:o)

My first layout was a heritage one, with a large old family picture, and a lot of stickers and punchies. I relied a lot on stickers then, now not so much. I still cringe when I look at those old layouts with stickers all over them. At least I used picture corners on the old photos...

I loved those triangles, and boy I went crazy with the 7 stickers that my consultant gave me. I will always have a soft spot in my heart for Kim, my first scrapbook consultant!

ROFL Oh boy do I. It was a wallet size photo of DD taken at 1 yr old. I used a pink frame, even though there's absolutely no pink in the photo. She was holding a stuffed Pooh bear, so I did stamp some Pooh faces around it and colored them in. No stickers. No patterened paper. I used a regular marker to write "1 yr old". LOL I have redone those few first pages since the markers I used weren't acid free. (And partially to hide any evidence! LOL)

My first layout was the Beginnings page in my family album. It is of my great grandparents, and grandparents when they were young.
