Faux Postage.....

like faux postage or don't know what it is?

I did several samples playing around with the chalking, stamping technique. I really like 2 of them well. There are 10 samples already in my webshots album if you care to look.

It appears I am a year older than you (I turn 40 next Wednesday - YIKES!). I was looking at your reunion photos and saw that you did a memorial page for classmates who had died. I've already scrapped my 20 year reunion photos, but am going to go back and do a page like you did. Thank you for the inspiration.

Hi April, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the faux Postage stamps!!!!!!!!!!! What did you use for the graphics? Are they Stamps? I also LOVE the wedding shaker box made from a composition book. Hope you don't mind scraplifting your idea? God bless, Dorothy in NY

Ooo...those are neat! What are you going to do with them? Just how big are they? I'm invisioning all those details on a something the size of a regular postage stamp.

I saved a picture of one I found on the web then printed it in different sizes on white cardstock. The triangle one I just did with a black pen.

Then I was using a template cut from clear shrink plastic but i found an easier way to do it using mrs grossmans fabric stickers. Since the stickers don't stick permanent or leave a residue I cut strips out of the striped sticker sheet I had. I cut them about 1/4" wide. Lay them on the black dotted lines.

I then chalk it in the areas, then stamp it. If I think it needs more color then I use my markers to color it in. Remove the stickers (which I can use again!),and cut the outer edges with a stamp edge pair of scissors.

I copied a picture off the internet and print several on a sheet of cardstock. I can also resize each template while I make a new sheet.

They are about the size of regular postage stamps...or stamp sets people collect from the PO.

This is the first time I've seen anything like this! It looks great April. I like the Texas one with the "postage stamp" on, the best, but they all look wonderful!
