First time using my 250 word magnetic stamp...

Well i finally got around to makeing a birthday card for a friend and i found that i didnt have a word i needed. I was disapointed cause i thought Wow i will not be short on words` now and then this happened.. I was trying to stamp HaPpy` Birthday Old Friend..(no OLD word) then i thought i would stamp Over the Hill but not alphabets to make it happen..so my first experience with this new toy was disapointing. thought i would share.. cathy

Who makes this product and can you tell me what it was supposed to be doing for you?

Sounds kinda like it sucked for a first time experience. But, hopefully as time goes by if you don't give up on it you will get to a point when you know it will or won't work for you and then it won't be frustrating.

Its made by Magnetic Poetry (words & crafts) It is 250+ magnet-backed rubberstamps words that yu place on a metal plated stamp block..i just got it from QVC. i love the idea of it and was in awwwww that i could finally have something i could make quotes and word sayings and such..but then i got to use it and my first try was a flop..haha I looked all over to find the little word ""old"" or ""over"" but nope not there..so ended up just saying happy birthday friend. Its a nice set that comes in its own case but i am now finding out that i will need to find me more words..shucks!!! just my 2=A2 share... cathy :)

Thanks for sharing.

I know that the Xyron people have products that are similar. We'd all like the wishblade but there's something else I saw that writes words, the deal though is that you've got to by the cartridges to expand your collection of possibilities (like with a sizzix you've got to buy each folder). I saw it demonstrated briefly and it was cool but still a very, very new product so I wasn't ready to buy yet. Would like more choices before investing.

That's a bummer! I've run into that before, though...no stamp with the word I want. That's when I either use a different stamp set, print the word on the computer, or simply write it in.
