Hello from a new member

Hello Everyone, I'm Becky and have just joined the group. I have just taken my first scrapbooking class and am now hooked on it. I've bought the basics and now I'm having a problem with not wanting to buy all of the pretty papers that I see. LOL I did go to Hobby Lobby yesterday and practically bought out the scrapbooking section since everything was

50% off. The only problem I'm having is learning how to do the lay out, I just need to be more creative since I don't want all of my pages to be the same. I'm getting there though, I did buy a few magazines to give me some ideas. Anyway thanks for letting me join this group, I hope to get some good ideas and to make alot of new friends. Alittle about me---I'm a retired teacher, a crafter===is there anything I haven't tried?? lol I love to read and paint using the one stroke Donna Dewberry method. I have a booth at a local antique mall where I sell my painted items--windows, glassware, plastic items, hand painted cards, etc. Thanks again for allowing me to be member of your group. Have a great day everyone, Becky

Aloha Becky, Welcome to the group. You have been sucked in just like the rest of us :) Don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions. I am fairly new to scrapping myself and these gals and guy are always willing to share. As for me, I live in Honolulu where I am a graduate student. Scrapping is my stress reliever from working on my thesis : ( It does wonders for me!

Hi, Becky,

Welcome! I'm also a retired teacher (about 18 years, give or take) but I still sub sometimes...you've found a really great group. I've been on USENET for more than a decade and I have to say that this is the best group I've ever had the pleasure of participating in! :-)

Welcome to the group Becky. I was the same way with you when I started. I bought a starter kit and just kept buying. Finally after a year I had to have a scrapbook room because I had so much stuff. Where are you from by the way. I'm in Indiana.

Welcome to rcs. I definitely understand the melting. This is our 15th day in a row with the heat index over 100 in Southern Indiana. I could handle the heat if it were not for the humidity. Sounds like a great reason to stay inside and scrap. Sandy

Welcome Becky. I don't get to spend as much time in this group as I would like to - but I do have to say I enjoy it here. I love seeing the "community" that has been built and continues to grow here - and I love seeing everyones finished projects. Everyone here loves to chat, share and inspire!

You will love it here.

Welcome to RCS Becky I am sure you will love being a part of this group. I am Marilyn from Scotland, married for 38 years, mother of 3, grandmother of 5, furbaby mother to 9 shih tzu. Been crafting since the 1960's, started paper crafting (making cards) in 2002 and started my first scrapbook Dec

2003 after lurking here for a few months, then started posting around Feb 2004. I have the odd spell when I don't find time to post but I still read when I can. Recently I have been busy tracing my family history with a view to doing a Heritage scrapbook, although I have very few photos, so it will be based on certificates, census info and a description of local history and occupations. Look forward to seeing some of your work :)

Take care, Marilyn
