Yesterday was the first day I have really worked on the horse album that was supposed to be a Christmas gift. It is coming together so nicely. I am using Crate paper. It is perfect for outdoorsy type pages. Anyway, in between caring for the kids and keeping the house sort of picked up, I managed to complete 8 layouts!! WOOHOO!
OT-For those of you who were keeping my daughter, Grace, in your prayers...she had her biopsy and it came back a more severe type of kidney disease called FSGS. We were very disappointed but are starting to adjust to the diagnosis. Since the 3rd of January she has had 3 IV infusions of Prednisone; 2 IV's of Lasix; 1 Infusion of Albumin and a treatment of Rituxan. The Rituxan is an infusion used to treat Cancer cells but in her case it is attacking the B cells of her disease. She will be doing the infusion once a week for four weeks and it takes 5 hours each time. Since we have to drive 1 1/2 hours to get to the childrens hospital, we often use the Ronald McDonald House in Albany. I would encourage all of you to think about throwing your pennies into the donation box and McDonalds Restaurants. What this charity does for sick kids is AMAZING! They make a horrible experience have something fun and positive to it after a long day of treatments. Also, if you live near a Ronald McDonald House you could do something really fun like start a scrap closet. This is what I have done: collected scrapbook materials from people all over the country. I take the donations to the Ronald McDonald House that we use and there I have set up a cabinet with all kinds of scrapbook supplies, from paper to albums to pens, stamps and stickers etc. It is for families who have to stay there for extended periods of time (some are there for months). They can create albums together and talk about their children's experience. It is a very positive and healing thing for families to do. I have to constantly check on the cabinet as the supplies get used up quickly, but, it is worth it!!! It is such a great feeling to take a box of supplies up there and tell people that they are from people who care and want to help them through a difficult time.
Thanks for listening! I feel like I just rambled on and on!! Jodi
