I broke down and did it

I ordered a Cricut Expression.

I met my sister at a halfway spot between where each of us live this weekend and we scrapped (and she sewed even for a bit) and we just had ourselves a rip roaring good time. Haven't been to Eau Claire WI for a while-they just got a JoAnns (nicely stocked) and have two really nice scrapbook stores. One is next to a retreat that I will be attending next January. Lots of Green Bay Packer stuff at that store. I literally bought them out of GBP paper.

Any-who ... my friend Natalie loaned me her cricut for the weekend ... and one of the scrapbook stores in Eau Claire rents out cartridges for $5 a day. I went absolutely mental. That thing is SO easy to use and some cartridges (like Graphically Speaking) are AWESOME. I'm a complete convert-and I've had a Pazzles for 3 years.

Talked it over with DH when I got home and put the order in tonight to Oh My Crafts. Ordered the Expression and will have 5 cartridges too. My friend has 11 (all different them what mine will be). I cannot wait until it comes.

WA HOO! Kathy

Doesn't take much to make us scrappers happy does it??? I love my Expression, just wish I had more time to use it. I only have a few carts, but do have friends and a DIL to borrow from which helps. Glad you were able to get away and have a great time.

Ok, I have not hears of this Cricut Expression. Is it something like a Cuttle Bug?

Well, not really. Its an electronic cutter. You put in cartridges (or use software) and it has a rotating blade to cut shapes or letters out. the Expression can cut objects up to 12 inches by 23 1/2 inches. So, like a Cuttle Bug but on steroids. You can see it at

Janesville heh? I'm in St. Paul, but am a Wiscon-ey girl. I swear I'm the blacksheep of the family for living over here! Got one sis in Madison, 2 in Green Bay and 1 in Wausau. (Its the one from Wausau that I met in Eau Claire-just a 90 minute drive for the both of us.) They have some nice retreat places in Eau Claire. White's is pretty well known in these parts. How 'bout down by you?

You should come up this way for Scrapfest at the Mall of America ... its worth it, especially with Midwest Scrapbooking's convention disappearing.

I LOVE my Sizzix, and my quickcutz ... and I can still see us> That's awesome! I am having a scrapbook rummage sale or two this summer to

I will have to journey to you and play with it lol

Kathy,

You will now have a great time whenever you play. I love my Cricut... I have 7 cartridges and I know at least one more I really need... But I am using the ones I have and loving them.

I love it that my two daughters and I can play.. It makes it more fun to have a friend or two at least to share in the creating.

I too, think it would be a real treat to go to the Mall of America Scrapfest. Even just a trip to the mall would be fun. Too bad it's too far away for me. Sandy

I got mine about 3 weeks ago and love it. I agree, it is so easy to use. Plug in and go. I did buy the Sure Scraps A Lot software and have a lot to learn. I only have 3 cartridges though.

Yep-SCAL is next for me. Luckily, I have had time to learn the Funtime software I bought last year to use with my Pazzles. I'm pretty sure I understand how to convert what I've had in WPC format to CUT files (I believe you can import SVG files into SCAL). I have a great pdf on how to use SCAL if you want it-email me off list at kathy dot lindstrom at gmail dot com
