LSS Yard Sale

The LSS is holding a yard sale where people get to bring in pre-priced scrapbook supplies. The store then sells them and the person gets store credit for the amount of stuff they sell. I picked up a Xyron 500 for $4.00 tonight; three page kits (one for $1, $2 & $3), a K & Co. Life's Journey scrap mat for $2; a bag of 36 pieces of assorted 12x12 cardstock for $2; a package with 36 sheets of pattern paper and 25 sheets of cardstock for $5; 12 sheets of bazzill cardstock for $3; CK Scrapbooking for kids book for $2; Making Memories back issues for 50 cents each; 2 sheets of Spiderman stickers by Sandylion - the LSS has them for $2.95 each; a package of fabric alphabet stickers for $1, some baby embellishments for 50 and 75 cents; and a gallon size ziploc baggie full of embellishments (wire clips, beads, deck of cards, jolee's dimensional stickers, diecuts, page pebbles, zippers, etc.) for $2. And 2 7x7 CM albums NIB for $10 each. I had them on my order form for the next crop as I had not yet purchased albums for the last two grandbabies. That alone saved me $22 plus tax and handling fees. I am in seventh heaven and sitting at my desk fondling my new finds. I had seen the Spiderman stickers in the LSS on Monday and told my self to wait until next week to get them - youngest GS got a spiderman outfit for Christmas and wears it everywhere. Sandy

Oh wow! You got a ton of great bargains! Can I come visit your LSS? LOL What a great idea to have a yard sale at a scrapbook store. Wonder if you LSS would talk to our LSS's here into doing that? LOL

OH MY! Those are great deals! Sounds like you will have a good time using those supplies. Interesting idea for a scrapbook yard sale. Does your LSS have one very often?

Congrats!!

Our LSS does this every year in January. It seems to be a great way to send on some of the things that have been purchased and no longer wanted. I was amazed at the amount of items brought in. There were rolling carts, lots of big ziploc bags of paper and cardstock, baggies of stickers, embellishments, tools, Quickutz hand tool (no dies), Sizzilits alpha set ($75), xyrons, albums, magazines, how-to books, someone got the labelmaker before I could reach for it. It took me almost an hour to go through all of the boxes and bags. I only bring cash with me when I go to the LSS to limit my spending. I had only $35 to spend. If I had any idea they would let us pre-shop I would have brought more.......It was a scrappers dream. It is a two day sale, Friday and Saturday. I wanted to try to go back on Saturday, but it is my day to work at the museum. Sandy

That's awesome! What a lot of great finds. My LSS had a scrappers yard sale in November and I got some good things. Not as much as you though :) The good thing is that it was such a big hit that she is having another one this Saturday :) I'm hoping to find some good things :)

I was telling a friend of mine about the sale. She had never been to this LSS before and wanted to go. Friday was an early day for me as all of the children at the daycare were picked up by 4:30 (and that hardly ever happens). We hurried to the LSS (30 min drive) and I got lots of ribbon this time. Someone had brought in a tote (one of the big rubbermade ones) full of baggies of ribbon (12" to 3 yards per bag). The prices were 5 to 25 cents. I was in seventh heaven. I couldn't believe that no one was buying much ribbon. We sat on the floor and dumped the tote between us and started digging. There was a lot of the ribbon with adhesive on the back. We bought all of that kind between the two of us. I couldn't believe it was 25 cents a bag too. Sandy

Wow! I wish my LSS would have a sale like that... their big thing is giving out coupons when you spend money there and then they have an auction once year and you can 'buy' stuff with the coupons... only I can't afford to spend enough there to do it! Last year I only got ONE twenty dollar coupon in their pre-auction time so I didn't even go to the auction... I prefer their once-a-year sale when they clear out old stock. I got a huge pile of paper last year for five cents a sheet. :)
