OT: Finally catching up! (Kinda LONG)

Hey everybody! I am back from my weekend out of town, and it's taken me a couple of days to get caught up around the house, at work, (you DONT wanna know..ugh), and on reading posts! Whew!!

First of all I wanted to share with you my DS accomplishments at his 4th grade Physical Education Olymypic competition at his school last Wed, Thurs, and Fri. I was able to leave work early each day so I could watch him and his classmates compete..it was really worth missing a few hours of work to watch him in all his glory! :-) Each student had to choose 4 events to compete in. Andrew took 1st Place in Arm Wrestling, 1st Place in Boys timed Obstacle Course, he got

2nd Place in Sit ups, losing to his best friend who beat him by only 5!! AND....the best one of all....He got 1st Place in the Boys Timed 5 Lap Race, AND .........(drum roll please!)..........he broke the school record by 5 seconds, that was in place for three years! He ran those laps in 55 seconds!! I am SO proud of him...I was almost in tears!! His main goal was to break that record, and by gosh he DID IT!! After all that was over with, my boys and I headed for Rock Island/Moline Illinois that afternoon, for the YABA state bowling tournament that my oldest DS Ryan competed in. (DH couldnt get off work in time to go so he had to stay home) He bowled singles, team and doubles events. His doubles games were very good, and they placed 13th out of 80 teams..not bad!! One of those games was a 220, and he only has a 138 average!! I was very proud of him! The new bowling shoes we had to buy him last week made the difference (so he says..lol) We had a blast over the weekend, it was like a mini vacation. We stayed at the Holiday Inn Holidome, they had 2 indoor pools, and a game room and ping pong tables to occupy the kids when we weren't at the bowling alleys. It was very entertaining to watch these kids and their social behavior! The girls in their cute bathing suits ogling the cute boys..and chasing them..and the boys running from them..it was such a HOOT..and my DS Andrew was right in there with them! The moms and dads who brought the kids all sat around in the common area near the pools to watch the kids and socialized and after eating pizza for supper, some of us sat around and drank a few beers and just plain relaxed. Some of the dads instigated some ice and water "fights" among our group, and we just had fun with it and laughed and laughed!!! On the way back we stopped at my Dads' in Peoria, and he bought supper for us...KFC!! Visited there for a bit before heading home. It was a long weekend but it was SO nice to get away! DH was glad to see us home again..he said he was BORED! I did try to sneak in a visit at an LSS while I was there, but I didn't make it before they closed. Darn it! :-) I am glad to be back home again, and looking forward to my "at-home vacation" starting Saturday!! yippee!! Hopefully I will get my pages and stuff put together for the barn that week.

Yes, I took lots of pictures. BUT, I am not happy with how they turned out at all. I should have just gotten a disposable camera, or taken my

35MM. My digital sux for action shots, unless I did something wrong with the settings, that could very well be! I am still learning it..*sigh* I tried to upload them to CVS to print off, and they all come up with a warning saying that picture quality wont be good for a 4x6 print. I dont know what I did wrong!! A lot of the pictures are blurred, but some of them shouldnt be, and they still wont turn out. Anyone know of a solution? Is it possible to change resolution after the pic is taken? suggestions welcomed!!! Linda

Linda I got the same message when I printed some pics at Rite Aid. The clerk said that they had a slight yellow tint to them, but when I picked them up they looked just fine to me. Hope yours turn out ok.
