OT: My Mom and Dad are the greatest..or..what I got for christmas

Hi All,

I forced my folks to buy very little this year as their fixed income is now squealing from how they are holding on to money. As usual my mother didn't listen.

They got me a H U G E gift bag filled with stickers (which took me 45 minutes to sort) and the paperdoll's circut cartridge -- not including a bunch of crafting books, clothes and Bible broken down into themes for card making purposes. They also gave me my grandmother wright's necklace and my grandmother higby's poodle pin

I shouldn't let my Sister and brother in law not get a bow too. they got me the first season of MacGyver. Sarah picked out a necklace that is absolutely beautiful.

My inLaws gave us money (enough for a Wii and a game or two) and me a gift card to AC Moore (which is good since one box is overflowing with flower stickers I need another shoebox).

larry gave me a digital photo frame and three sweaters. I gave him a digital camcorder.

Sarah got a Wii and a ton of games, for which as dutiful Aunt and Uncle we played with her for 4 hours -- how we hurt today.

So what did you guys get?

Kate

PS I posted the generous supplies my SS gave me earlier.

Looks like you made out great Kate! You are going to love the paper dolls cartridge, it is my favorite because it has so much on it.

Every year I look forward to opening the gifts from my youngest niece. She always choses thoughtful yet umm..."interesting" things for me. This year she bought me magnetic vinyl that turns the refrigerator into a giant snowman. She said I could copy the pieces and make snowmen for all my friends with my Cricut. Next because I am going into the hospital in Jan she bought me a flannel throw blanket and pillow. The blanket and pillow have scenes from my favorite movie Scarface. We laughed so hard thinking about the message the blanket would be sending to the hospital staff, it has a picture of Al Pacino holding a machine gun and saying Say Hello to my Little Friend.

I was shocked on Christmas Day when my older children and their families arrived for dinner. They went together and brought me a Cricut Expression. I can't wait to play with it. (Just as soon as I get my end of the year reports finished for the daycare) I just figured out how to use the baby one. My DIL had already picked up the cartridges she loaned me, but promised to bring them back next week for me to try on the Expression. My youngest two still at home DS#2 and DD#3 got me some shades of glimmer mist (they talked to the LSS to see which ones to get) and a bag for my baby cricut to tote it to crops.

Wow sounds like you have a great haul. I'm enjoying my Tom Jones CD. He put out a new one this year. I know I know it may sound weird, but I fell in love with Tom Jones when I was about 12 and I still love the sound of his voice!!

My folks gave me money to my favorite cooking store. I know exactly what I want. A turkey pan. I've never wanted to spend the money for one, but after trying to cook a 21 pound turkey in an aluminum pan this year and having it spring a leak. I'm done making do for a pan I'll use about 2 times a year. I'm just going to get one as it's needed for a good turkey and clean oven!

I also got a crayola glow station. It's something you can draw pictures when it's dark. Glow art. We're all having fun with it. I got new fancy dancy hot mitts. Since my last ones got a hole in them... they were greatly appreciated! I thought the hole wouldn't be a big deal. Just don't stick your finger out. I don't know how many times I had to yank my finger back in!

DH and I gave our usual token gifts as we saved our money to buy a new stove. I'm cooking on 3 burners... for years really. I finally decided I just cook too much to be cooking like this.

Still have Christmas at the in-laws to go. Who knows what that will bring... nothing spectacular usually. And this year they want to do one of those steal the gift games. I so hate that game. I always end up with the yellow bobbie socks!
