OT: Neat unmounted stamp storage

Hi folks....thought I would share this link with you all. It is for a really neat unmounted stamp storage binder and would suit the thrifty/frugal crafter and also satisfy those that love to indulge in altered art and decorating craft items :o)

I am struggling with whether I want to make it today or work on my March/April challenge! I am leaning more and more toward this! Thanks so much for showing us this!!!! I keep my unmounted in CD cases but don't hardly use them as I can't see them, and it's a pain the arse to see them. Okay, I've made up my mind I'll make this today. It's good to see you in here Marilyn. I hope you'll be able to stop in more often, we've missed you! Off to physical therapy, then call Deb. (I haven't forgotten tocall you back, DH is STILL on the phone! the nerve of him!)

Hey Marilyn,

Kewl idea TFS

I have stored some of my clear stamp sets I bought from QVC Donna Dewberry, Anna Griffin in a clear plastic DVD box they fit great.

I have a few of my St. Patrick's Day wood block stamps I bought at AC MOORE stored in a clear VHS case, same w/the EASTER stamps too....they fit in there almost like a puzzle, nice and snug...organized too.

Okay Marilyn!! It's all your fautl!!! I went to the link, loved the idea of storing unmounted stamps this way. I spent yesterday afternoon-this afternoon and am finally finished! I made two of those binders and have transfered all my unmounted into them!! I didn't even have to buy anything, I had all the needed materials on hand! It works wonderfully! I was suprised at how easy it was to make. I used to store my unmounted in CD cases then when I wanted to use them it was a guessing game as to which case they were in, even though I labeled them. Thank you so much!

Well Kenda...since I inspired you by sending the link....and helped you to eat into your stash without further purchase....plus contributing to your therapy by giving you something constructive to do WHILE resting your knee.....I now wanna see the finished article/s :o)

Sounds like I need to follow your lead now and make at least one binder....ROFL. I have most of my unmounteds in a lever arch binder but there are loads of others in CD cases. Perhaps this system would get me using my stamps....and quickly drying up ink pads....much more that I do now. I think if you can't get to stuff easily....it doesn't get used!!! Glad you found the link useful :o)

Take care, Marilyn

Okay Mailyn you asked for them!! Pictures are up! There are several pictures. The only difference is that I couldn't find my masking tape so I used book binding tape. (I did consider using duct tape! LOL ) I'm not sure I'll even decorate the out side. Okay, when all my other projects are done! LOL

Wow...these are superb!!!! You did a fabulous job and you can probably decorate them anytime! I like the book-binding tape you used but it is not easy found here so I would have to use either masking tape of Duck Tape :o) Did you use standard "office supply" page protectors or the sort intended for scrapbooking? I am wondering if the PP's needed some additional reinforcing at the holes....some of my pages are a little heavy when fully loaded.

I also may have to make mine a different size if the regular "office supply" PP's are used, as UK A4 is different measurements to the US 8 1/2 x 11". I would need to tweak the cover size to accommodate. Oh...wait a minute.....I do have a bunch of Darice a/f PP's I bought from Ebay that I could use for this as I didn't like the quality...too thin for scrapbooking I thought. Off to have a rummage to see what I can find...but the project will have to wait until later as DH is on a week's Spring Break and busy getting on with the Sun Room he started last year. Guess who acts as labourer, go-for and anything else you care to mention LOLOLOL Thanks for sharing :o)

Take care, Marilyn

Woohoo Kenda! Now why didn't you show the unmounted storage books to me the other day? LOL They look great, even without the duct tape. But I do have to ask. Were you able to get all your unmounted stamps out of the CD cases?
