Hey everyone.
Late last year I found out my uncle, who basically raised me while my Mom and Dad were at work, has lung cancer. I visited over Christmas and he wasn't too too great. About a month and a half ago he called to let me know that his tumors on his lungs were actually shrinking from the radiation and he was feeling great. I was thrilled.
Then about a week ago I got a call that he wasn't doing very well and tumors were found on his brain. I was going to post for prayers at this point with the hope that radiation would work miracles, but didn't. Two days later I got another call that he was going off his treatments and hospice was going to take over. They gave him 2 weeks. I was a wreck for days. I talked with him yesterday and he sounds better than ever because the chemo and radiation aren't bothering him anymore. However, without treatment I know his days are numbered. I just wanted to ask that you send up a prayer or two that whatever time he has left is pain-free and as good as can possibly be.
Right now I am working on finding a way home to see him but with money tight right now, it is taking some careful thought and planning. Hopefully all will work out and I can get home.
Thanks everyone. I am trying to stay as positive as possible since he is still here. It is just hard sometimes.
