OT: Prayers needed and other stuff...

I have been trying to stay upbeat and positive for a while now and I feel it is time to ask for Prayers.. I know that there are a lot of people on here who have had a lot going on and it seems that it does not matter who we are.... we all have issues of some type or another... My hubby had a great job for 23 years and then it was over... So he started doing contracting and again we managed for a year.. But he has been out of work for the past month and a half... We managed to have enough extra that we can manage for about one more month... But so far no luck at getting another job. He is a computer programmer analyst. He is still looking and we are still praying, but it is beginning to look a little bleak... Insurance is also a major issue.. COBRA is very expensive, but we could not get insurance last year.... so we are having to pay for COBRA...

Just wanted others to help us pray...

((hugs)) I am sorry to hear this news. Wow it cant be easy these days to cope with losing a job and having very little savings and not much time to get another job. I would be in a bad way if either one of us lost our jobs. We dont have much in savings either, and insurance is a necessity. I hope this work out soon for you guys...prayers being said! Linda

Cyndi Anne, I know exactly where you are coming from. DH lost his job last Feb after 17 years. Finally found a new one in July after depleting what savings we had and then his kidneys failed in November. Thank goodness the insurance at the new job had just gone into effect a couple of weeks before he collapsed. Hang in there, my thoughts and prayers are with you. Sandy

I knew several had major changes like this shortly after I started on RCS, but could not remember all the names... Because he opted to become and independent contractor....we had to keep COBRA... and that is about twice as expensive as insurance through work... And you can only keep it for 18 months...so in August (if we can afford it) his will run out...mine will in November... I may have to go back to working just to have real company insurance...but for now, he says no... and only if I can get the one job that I recently heard might be available again....through the County Library System... or if we have to move.... because then I won't have the grandbabies to keep... and might even have to help them with childcare....

I just really do not want to have to move in with children, nor have them move in here.... but it looks like that might be a big possibility....

Praying for you, Cyndi Anne, that he finds the perfect job very soon! We went through a similar situation several years ago, and yes, COBRA is VERY expensive! Hopefully you'll be letting us know about the great job your DH will be starting soon!

I'm never too busy to pray for a friend.

I lost my job a week ago and am now in a panic as there is sooo much money going out for the new apartment and only one paycheck coming in.

I promise to add you to the prayer list.
