OT: Vocal cord surgery tomorrow!!

I am so happy that the day is finally here!! ~:o) I am going for Vocal Cord surgery @ 8:30 am on Thursday 1/8/09!! I have been dealing with hoarseness for over a year now and hopefully this will solve the problem. See there is a cyst on my cord on one side and there are blood vessels on the outer covering. When they vibrate with the cord on the opposite side it could cause them to bleed. Because of this cyst it does not allow them to close properly and I get very winded when having conversations!! Extremely annoying! My DH has taken off until next Monday and DMIL will have the kids till Sat. Unfortunately, my son will miss school on Friday. Small price to pay to get my voice back!!! Oh did I mention that I cannot talk for 3 DAYS!! I think that will be the hardest part of this ordeal! Blessings to all, Dorothy in NY

Good luck with the surgery. Not talking for three days would be a dream come true for my children. They never seem to hear me anyway.

Good luck on the surgery! You will be so happy to get it back! Once lost voice for month due to strep! Not a picnic!

Dorothy, I hope everything goes well and your recovery is fast. I can't imagine not talking for 3 days! Like you said though, Small price to pay to get your voice back. Best wishes!

We wish you a speedy recovery, but remember you are Italian so TALK WITH YOUR HANDS. lol.

Or you could learn how to text message your needs to your kids/husband/ etc.

Dorothy good luck on the vocal cord surgery and I hope you have a speedy recovery with your voice! I cant imagine not talking for three days. Mind the doctors!! :-) Linda
