Paper Piecing

I have been paper piecing for a couple of years now. I'm just as hooked on paper piecing as I am with scrapbooking. My question is, for those of you that paper piece, what color are you using for flesh? Are you having a hard time finding it? I can't seem to find any at the LSS and one of the employees talked me into a natural color. I didn't think it would work and after the piece was made, I was right. I don't like it, Tinkerbell just looks washed out. Any ideas?

How about using some chalk to do some shading on the piece?

Myra, I have the color that is made for that . I got it from Jill's Paperdoll site. It is light but the best solution is to use your chalks and shade the edges and then make pink cheeks. A little white dot of gel pen in the middle of the cheek makes it look shiny. I also put a dot of white gel in the eyes. Sort of 'brings them to life'

Great ideas Sabrina, thanks. Do you have a web address for her? I can't seem to find it when I search. Myra

I use all different colors for skin. If I have to match one like Tinkerbell I take in an example of the color to more closely match it. Like Cathy I do shading with chalk and colored pencils too.

Sorry Mra, I updated my files recently and that was one I let go. I seldom go there anymore. Look in any of your Scrapbooking magazines ads..she usually has an ad. The pkgs of paper are pretty full and it lasts a long time. Sometimes I use a very lt beige or cream paper, too.
