Paper Piecing Info

ok, im going to be really lazy today. I want to do a Care Bears paper piecing for yet another album for Kai, but I'm really lost on how it is done. The pattern i want to use is from a coloring book. Do I make copies using my Printer-Scanner-Copier (aka PSC from now on) or what? This is probably one of the things I havent seen addressed in here, so I thought I would ask... Any help is GREATLY appreciated! Oh and, still no baby and hes due on Sunday.

If the paper piecing has no layers one copy will do. If there are layer I make several copies in order to cut out the pattern.

Lacey, My PP swaps group did a care bears swap last year and we found coloring pages on line, printed them off as patterns. You then trace around each arm, leg, head, face, ears and whatever embessishent they have ,on the cardstock that corresponds to the bear you have chosen. glue each piece on ( I thought of it as build-a-bear :-)) The plush paper is nice for these or you can mount each piece on mulberry paper. I did the Nana bear, even used silver wire for the glasses. We all did a different bear so now I have one of each of the bears. I have used most of them on pages and on cards. They are a lot of fun to make.

Maybe I'm looking in the worng places but I can't find CareBear stuff anywhere. My baby girl's bedroom is done in all CareBears and I'd like to incorporate that into her scrapbook, does anyone have any CareBears related LOs or PPs uploaded that I might be able to take a look at? Thanks for your help! Melissa

Have you checked the baby department at WalMart? I was at one the other day and they had these booklets they were giving away that had Care Bear scrapbook stickers in them and sample LO's to make. I grabbed one for myself and one for my daughter. Next time I go I will try to get a few more if they still have them. Sandy

Lacey, I have a little trick I learned long ago...I use my dry embossing tool to trace , it makes just an impression and then I can either draw around each piece or just cut them out. This works real well on cardstock. I have used a light box to trace over but some card stock is too thick.

Sandy & Sabrina - Thank you both for the tips. The website is perfect and I'll be checking out Wal-mart later today.

Thanks from me, too, Sabrina and Sandy! My granddaughter is also very into Carebears, and this website is perfect! I've never done paperpiecing, but I think I will start learning with these! Thanks again!
