I have the chalk stamp pads from Color box and I love the look of the colors. It has to be heat set to not smear. I got to try them at the Rubber Stamp Convention. I liked them so much I bought all the colors this summer. I haven't tried embossing with them... yet.

I have one set of the Colorbox pads, but I don't know about embossing with them. I'll see if I can try that today and let you know if it works or not.

Lynne, I tried the chalk stamp pads from color box while we were at the barn. I really liked them a lot. The little pedal wedges were great for inking around letters. I didn't know about the heat set. I just used them like any ink pad. If I didn't heat set my work, will I have any problems like the ink getting on the page protector or bleeding into the background paper? It never occurred to me to heat set because I don't do that with normal inks.

Please tell me more! Thanks!

Hi Amy,

The directions are sparse, but here's what it says on the bottom of the Petal Point stamp pad...

"Stamps and dries like dye ink, permanent when heat set."

We were making cards at the convention and the gal said to make sure we heat set them so they wouldn't smear. Wish I could tell you more, but I'm just not sure what will happen in an album.
