Rubberstamping and papercrafting show

I went to the Heirloom Productions Rubberstamping and Papercrafting show in Indianapolis on Sunday. I went by myself and DH even gave me some extra spending money! I was really overwhelmed with everything. Rubberstamping is a whole different world, and the cards were really beautiful works of art. I gained a new appreciation for cardmakers and their artistic abilities! I had NO idea.....wow! I didn't see many scrapbook vendors there except for TLC and CTMH. Here are some examples and some of the vendors that were there.

This vendor had some really cute ideas for shirt shaped cards or you could use them for scrapbook embellishments! The stamps themselves I thought were kind of high, but the ideas were endless! She demonstrated using white paper, stamping the image, and dressing it up and cutting it out , or stamping on patterned paper and cutting it out, so very little coloring was needed!

The Folio designs they showed were really cute, and they used them to make a folded square decorative envelope, that you could put a giftcard or little treat in it.They looked like a lot of fun to make!

I liked the pop-ups at this vendor! So many pretty things and their website has tons of ideas and techniques and tutorials on it. my favorite was the pop up words.

I liked the selection that this vendor had! Prices were ok for the smaller sets, and I got a couple of them.

I liked this waterfall card..it looks pretty easy to assemble, and you could do any occasion. It might be something you could use on a scrapbook page too, only using pictures instead of rubber stamps, or even journaling. Tutorial here:

I learned about embossing with vellum at this vendor.OH the possibilities! They had some really cute stamps for Christmas, and I got a couple of sets.

Of course there were tons of unmounted stamps to sift through. One vendor had all hers for only $2 each! I got some sheets of EZ mount for $3.50 a sheet. I dont know if that is expensive or not, but some booths were selling it for $4.50,so I am glad I looked around first! Since I am venturing into using unmounted stamps, I had to have some way to store them, and one guy shared a tip for storing them. He sold these clear sturdy plastic 8.5x11 pages and he said to stamp the image with black Staz-On on one side, and stick the stamp to the other side, so you know where the stamps go when you are done using them. I got some of those too.

They have conventions all over the US..here is the website and schedule!

Lucky you Linda!! I am going to have to go to one of these one day. The next show that is even close to us is in Memphis (Not sure if it's attached to the same companies that were at the one you were at). The Memphis one is May 30-31st. Deb wanna come with? I will try to get Mom to come, that's assuming DS#1 isn't here visiting.

I just might go with you Kenda, if I can. We'll have to wait and see what's going on and of course whether or not DS#1 is here.

Sounds like a tentative plan! They canceled last years. Hopefully they won't do that again.

Wow, Linda. It looks like you had a great time! I love doing those waterfall cards. That was one of my Christmas cards last year. They are super easy to make! I have also made those decorated folding envelopes. Those are super easy too. What a great convention and you came back with a lot of great ideas.
