Should I get a Cricut on Black Friday?

I want to go to Joanns on Friday morning and see if I can snag myself an original Cricut for $75. That sounds like a price that can't possibly be beaten.

But I'm having buyers remorse in advance! This is why I don't have ANY diecutting machine - I never really know whether it's worth the investment and whether I'll use it enough and so on.

I never do large projects, and I almost never scrap any more. I make TONS of greeting cards and I want to use the Cricut for that... I don't think I really NEED the Expression and I can't possibly afford it anyway.

What else do you need besides the machine? What's the bare minimum number of cartridges you can get away with for general use?

Get the Cricut then download the Cricut Design Studio and you will be able to download some cutfiles from the Cricut board for free. You will only be able to use files that use the George cartridge but there are quite a few. Next you want to buy yourself SCAL because you can cut any font on your pc with it. After that you can learn to use Inkscape to make your own cutfiles and/or start buying the cartridges that you feel you can't live without.

BTW, if you don't buy the cartridges until after they have been out a little while you will be able to buy them for $25 - $30.

The cartridges I use the most are Paper Doll Dress Up, Doodlecharms, and Storybook.

I absolutely love my cricut and during the holiday season cannot live without it as it is a godsend.

I only have a few cartridges but could go crazy for many.

I have the jukebox as well and that too is a lifesaver as well as Design studio.

If you can get one, you'll be happy.

I was going to saw Paper Doll Dress-Up, Storybook and Plantin Schoolbook (I think it only comes with the expression - but I love using the fonts and there are both upper and lower). Sandy
