Something hit me last night.
My 85-year-old Dad has been planning for several months to come out mid-December & stay for a month to visit & do some work around my condo. Since he came out this summer to build a storage space for me in my parking area

he's lost most of the vision in his right eye due to macular degeneration. What struck me was that it was 10 years ago this coming January that he & mom came out (6 months after I bought my condo) to help renovate my kitchen & bathrooms. A week into the visit mom had a heart attack & ended up in the hospital for 3 weeks. She was in her late 70s & had smoked since she was in her teens. She was diagnosed with emphysema & came home from the hospital in a wheelchair & on oxygen. It was downhill from there & she died about 2 years later. Especially considering it's the 10th anniversary of their disastrous visit, I sure hope dad stays healthy while visiting! (He's had 2 eye surgeries in the past 6 weeks, including one today.)
Any good thoughts sent his way will be greatly appreciated.
