Target and Scrapbooking stuff

I went to Target yesterday and their scrapbooking aisle was half empty, with a bunch of stuff on clearance (but not reduced enough to make me able to afford to buy it!) and a sign saying 'big things are coming'. So they're either changing over their product line or (more likely) getting rid of the scrapbooking section altogether. If they're following suit from the other stores around here it's the latter... I also went to Joanns and they've shrunk their scrapbooking section by two whole aisles from what it used to be!

Ouch, that hurts! Where are you? And, I hope that's not a nationwide thing, but a store preference thing if you're right!

Hoping you find other great places :)

There aren't any bricks-and-mortar places to get craft supplies around here except for the LSS - and I only go there about once a year because I can't afford their prices so all I get there is gluedots. (boo hoo) There's a Michaels about ten miles away, and Joanns is five miles in the opposite direction. Aside from that it's a desert. I think they just assume that everyone will buy stuff like that online.

Wow, that stinks. I was just at our Target here and the isle was still full. That was this weekend. I really hope they don't get rid of it! I do have a Michaels though and a Joanns so for me, it won't be the end of the world.

It might just be my store... they're remodelling and changing a bunch of stuff around, and the scrapbooking aisle wasn't the only one that was sparse.

I was at the Target in Champaign IL last week and their scrapbooking isle was getting pretty small too. A lot of stickers on mark down, and very low on other items. Danville doesn't have anything but Walmart anymore, and their stuff isn't as much as it used to be, not much choice on stuff. There is a small scrap store that the owner actually designs a lot of her own merchandise, it is about 20-30 miles west of Danville in Muncie. Otherwise we have to go to Champaign to Hobby Lobby and Michaels. I don't think Hobby Lobby's clearance isle is as good as ours was, unless I don't know where the "real" isle is, haha. I do a lot of online shopping now.

Hopefully for you it is only a regional change. Not all stores are the same.

I went to Target over in Champaign yesterday, and yes it was slim pickins Tammy!. I don't hardly get over there much, but I did browse. I had to tell myself NOT to buy anything..I have a cruise to go on next week and want every penny for that! :-) I still have not made it over to the store in Muncie. Saturdays when they are open is usually when I have to work and cant go.

I would love for Target to upgrade their scrapbooking department. Mine has always been kind of lame and expensive. The LSS closed down, but I am close to Michaels and JoAnns. I do like JoAnn's scrap section. Michaels doesn't have anything new and exciting. I usually use them for the basics like when I need the strong glue tape for my OSW cards and tote.

My closest supplier is about 15 miles away... (unless you count wallmart which I don't, nothing really there)

I never buy anything online (yet) except for punchies and Dorothy's cricut. We don't have Hobby Lobby, our Joann's tend to be pretty sparse with scrapbooking but our Michaels, the scrapbooking section is really almost the biggest section of the store so that's great!

I have a new neighbor who crafs everything and she likes to go to Tuesday Morning as well.

I'll have to check out Target, see if they're doing big markdowns here. It's farther away than Michaels and my LSS but hey, a deal is a deal, right!

Oh, and I've tried to stay away from ebay cuz then I really would have a problem... though Jessica bought a big bag of multi-colored eyelets for like 2 dollars, which I covet so we'll see. And then she just got me introduced and hooked to splitcoaststampers and it looks like they have a million and one companies I've never heard of.... YIKES, I'm in Trouble!

The scrapbook aisle in the Target here in Levittown, NY was practically bare yesterday. A few paper pads and a few stickers that were marked down with a lot of empty spaces.
