Today's scrapping offering

Just uploaded another page of photos taken at Callendar House. No people - just exhibits of tools, guns and a cannon from the world famous Carron Iron Works. I was born less than quarter of a mile from Carron Iron Works....hence the interest in the history of this area.

It is a boat lift Linda and was created to join together two canals, one of which was 115 feet higher landwise than the other. Small history page here:

Marilyn, You are on a roll. Love your LO's. I had to do a search on the Internet to read more about the Callendar House. What a fascinating history. Sandy

There you go Sandy....everyday is a school day...even at our age :) We have lived with these places on our doorstep and I suppose we take them for granted. It was Christopher's visit and his interest in photography that took us there again that day and I was really impressed over the amount of work and restoration that had been undertaken to make Callendar House so attractive as a visitor centre. Glad to have shared and that you also found it a fascinating place. Marilyn
