A Cinderella dress

A cinderella dress

My 4 yr old GD has asked me to make her a Cinderella dress "and it comes with a crown and shoes with it" LOL for her aunt's wedding. DGD has a picture of Sleeping Beauty from Disney and has decided that "crown and slippers" belongs with a Cinderella dress, even though she describes the dress the way you would for Cinderella, with lots of poof and all. She also believes that the perfect Cinderella dress is "blue blue" NOT white like the Cinderella dress her Aunt has ALREADY purchased for the wedding, where the 4 year old is supposed to help another, younger girl spread petals down the aisle.

Granddaughters are fun to sew for, but how is any dress I sew going to "come with" a tiara and slippers? teehee.

and who cares that Grandma is supposed to be working on a MOB dress, NOT a Princess dress for a Monster Princess? I suppose I could make it, if I have time, and then let her wear it for the reception... I spend so much time worrying an idea it takes forever to get done.

BTW, I found almost 10 yards of sage colored linen/rayon blend fabric at walmart. thinking this might work for the MOB dress. Kitty

Tiaras are cheap. You can get a small one (for a little girl) on ebay for a few bucks. Inexpensive ballet slippers might do the trick too.

well, this tiara has to do for a wedding, so I am looking for something a bit conventional so her auntie will be more likely to accept it. I do appreicate the idea, and if I can come up with an idea that will please her aunt who is the bride, I will run with it, I am not averse to saving money.

Find something you and the kid like? If auntie wants something wildly more expensive, let her buy it for you. And yes, I work for a bridal shop.

No, I was thinking more of the unstructured quality of the tiara's I've seen made with the star wire from crafts. I might be thinking of something else than Juno mentioned, but I was thinking of a more structured tiara for a wedding

Kitty, In the States, Claire's Boutique has tiaras sized (and priced) for smaller, younger people. My younger sister got one there for use in a figure skating competition, it was small, solid, structured, made with rhinestones, and about $10.
