A great day Fabric Shopping & weather

A friend used 2 coats of primmer on her wood paneling before she painted it a "light sand" color. It really lightened up the room. My wood panel in the den is 38 years old and has darkened with time. I'm planning on painting it come summer, or in a few months. Hadn't thought of using varnish instead. This gives me something to think about. Barbara in SC

Before I'd put anything on the paneling I'd check with the paint store. DH was going to use primer and the woman who runs the store said we should use eggshell paint because it has better hiding power. He only needed 1 coat. He also sealed the seams with some kind of caulking. We have that sheet paneling. Don't like that stuff at all. The other thing is that because of all my allergies we use Devoe WonderPur. It doesn't have any VOC's so there is no paint odor and it dries in less than an hour. They can match almost any color except for the designer licensed colors. colors from Ralph Lauren or disney, things like that can't be copied. I think they can copy from a piece of material though. Other companies also carry no VOC paints. I'm pretty sure Benjamin Moore and Glidden have them. You can't get them in Home Depot though, you have to go to a paint store. There is very little difference in price. Juno
