A moment to catch me breff!

One set out the door at lunchtime:

Victorian chemise (internet pattern) Victorian drawers (internet pattern) Victorian corset (Truly Victorian 110) Victorian skirt with bum pad (converted bridesmaid gown!) Victorian bodice with pagoda sleeves and detachable under sleeves and collar (Simplicity pattern)

I need to tidy the sewing room, get some stuff ready for posting, and make space to mend a bed!

And I have the worst job in the world to catch up on: chasing customers for payment.

Kate, you're never supposed to let things out the door without final payment!

Congratulations for having so many jobs, and such variety!

Put a dept colletion agency on their heels! Something with an euphonious name as 'Moscow Inkasso' or similar. ;-) But seriously, payment behaviour these days is the pits. DH has engaged the services of such an agency because he had one or two customers who didn't pay, and with good success, too. It cost him not much, I think 100.00 EUR once, and they make their profit from the interest that has run up. Well, of course we have bills over a couple of thousands of Euro, so that matters. One of the debtors was a painting company DH had worked with for ages. He had asked them several times to pay, was willing to accept payment in several instalments but the guy just ignored him. The worst thing was that the guy had already received the money from the customer and just didn't lead it on. Bad business, they run on borrowed money for ages, and still they get a new vehicle fleet all the time and the owner drives all kinds of fancy cars. When we had put the agency on his heels, he called immediately (hadn't been available on the phone for ages) and was oh so contrite. He paying now, in instalments. Really, if you aren't serious about collecting your fees people don't seem to respect you. If you make them pay, on the other hand, you seem to increase in their esteem.
