A really special baby gown pattern

I'm thinking I've tested and discarded dozens of baby clothes patterns. 'Ease' is good if you're a grown up and just want something comfortable. Not so good if you only weigh 8 pounds and the pattern industry assumes that your nightgown or shirt needs to fit until you begin lst grade. A friend brought me a luscious yard of knit fabric dotted with dump trucks and airplanes. I discovered an untried Kwik Sew 3090 in my stash of knits and gave it a try. Wonderful. No matching rib knit required, no buttons or snaps; just one of those 'back shoulders opens over front shoulders' for an easy slip on. The notches, instructions, size and 'walk' are perfect. It just sailed together. I'm thinking it's possible to make a nightgown for about $2. And a little love, of course. Polly

I always found Kwick Sew patterns a joy to work with. A little pedestrian in style for those who like the cutting edge of fashion, but no failures in the drafting, and easy to alter for personal fit. And the baby patterns just work. Nice fit, easy instructions, no spurious seams and fastenings. Properly engineered for ease of dressing and comfort of baby.

That sounds like the pattern I need to acquire; I'm making some clothing for a couple new additions to the family. No great grandchildren for me yet, but two sisters' GGDs are expecting soon and another in June. Emily
