A Red Letter Day!

I want to thank all of you for being so generous with your advice. I've been lurking (learning?) for a bit, having been gifted with a sewing machine for Christmas.

Today, I learned about sewing notions for newbies (which gives me ideas on things to buy myself!), about bra-making (special thank you to Joy), and about cutting fabric in a straight line. I have problems drawing a straight line with a ruler!

I have made a few "small" items (a pillow cover, a case for my glasses) and have done some mending (teenage boy and blue jeans), and am now working on my first article of clothing (a blouse). I'm not happy with how the collar is working out - but I'll get there.

Thank you all - again.

Hope you really enjoy your sewing. From being someone who viewed sewing as a chore, I now find it fun and relaxing. I didn't know I could be so creative.

The help and support offered by people in this ng is amazing. I've come to the conclusion that if no one here knows the answer then it's not worth knowing?
