All fixed!!!!

I got the embroidery machine back on Friday. Don't know what caused it to happen, but it was out of time and the needle height was too low. So they fixed all that for about $85. :) I was pleased. Brought it home and tried it out, works wonderfully well. YAY!!!!!!!!

Beverly took the words right out of my mouth. You need the back-up, with out a doubt. I have the possiblity to get a third machine.My friend, Bobbie, maybe getting an old Singer. She said I can have if she does get it. I would really welcome it. I'll be taking my hand-me-down Kenmore to the cottage soon. If I get the Singer I could leave the Kenmore at DD's cottage through the winter. She has heat year round. It would save carting it back and forth. Keep your fingers crossed.

And my back-up embroidery machine off eBay arrived today!!! Wheee! Haven't turned it on yet, but it appears to be in great shape, except for it's missing the inner hoop for the small frame, and I've just sent a message to the seller.

Wishing you luck Juno, one can never have too many sewing machines. It like being 'too rich' or 'too thin'... ain't no such thing!

Beverly, I hope you get the missing part and can use it for many years. Is it like the one you have? If so, you're already an expert using it.

Yes it is very much like the one I have except a couple of years (and upgrades) newer/better. I haven't heard back from the seller yet, but I have discovered I can purchase the small hoop a couple of places online. Of course I'll make the seller eat the cost....

Oh fun!!! I hope you get it. :) The Sewing Machine Fairy is better than the Tooth Fairy and the Easter Bunny combined. That would be really great if you could avoid hauling one that far every time you go out to the cottage. And you really do need to increase the "herd." I have 8 around here already. The treadle and the converted treadle don't really see much (if any) use, but they are here and well loved. The other 6 get Used.

Thank you very much. It got right to work yesterday too. :) I will put up pictures in a while. I have to think about WHERE I would put a back up embroidery machine. lol I might need a can of Pam to get it in the door....... ;)

Remember, you'll have a semi-empty nest in just a couple more years. Start moving into DD's room now.... ;->

*heavy sigh*

Himself has already said he would like to move the home office into her room when she moves out. Right now, the office is off the dining area. The kitchen and dining room are open to each other, but it's real obvious where the dining room starts. Well, he thought it would be lovely to take out the wall between the dining room and the office (which is small) and make that into a bigger, and more formal dining room. And it would be a lovely thing. Darn. If we do that, I will likely put the dining room table we have now (you know what it looks like lol) in storage and get a larger behemoth of one. I **love** my table. However, it can only seat about 8, and that's pretty cozy. If we expand the dining room, we'd have room for a 12 seater easy. And we're getting to the point that a table that big wouldn't be too much. We'll just see what happens. :)

The seller e-mailed me yesterday, they found the missing part. Yay! They will ship it to me ASAP. I plan on setting up the new one today, and giving it a test drive.

If the old one can be fixed, you'll have yourself a mini-sweatshop, turning out embroideries.

Too true!!! And the old one works fine, I just have to manually rewind after each color change. :-(

I just finished the 71st out of a batch of 150 designs I am donating to DGD's dance group. Gets kinda boring after the first 40 or so... :-}

Yes, but that's the real strength of the embroidery machine. For one-off, it's faster to do it "free-style" but for 150, the magical machine wins!

Indeed! I would NEVER have volunteered making 150 of anything by hand.
