You have, without a doubt, the MOST interesting projects! I love the epaulettes, that fringe is yummy.

And calling netting/tulle "chicken wire"...? Too true!

It is, but it's very thick and heavy. The real stuff is lighter, I think.

I have to say I love most of my working days right now!

Like knitting a barbed wire fence when it has ll the pins in it too!

I need to press that ribboned edge... Am currently procrastinating madly!

Kate, I can't tell you how much I look forward to your creations, diary and pictures. I do so much love them. And who am I to offer a suggestion? But I will. It just may be time for you and your dear sewing sisters to investigate . . . gulp . . . glue. Not plain old school house white paste glue (which is, of course, quite edible and tasty) but hard-down serious glue. You could have attached that squiggly wiggly glorious fringe with glue that would have been permanent enough to withstand a cannon barrage. It would save a heap of bruised and weary fingers - unless, of course, you get distracted and glue the fingers down. Working with the new glues is serious/tricky but worthy of consideration. I hope you'll think about it and hope you'll think of me as your cheering squad. GO. You are an amazing woman. Polly

Thank you. And always offer! Sometimes it'll be something I have tried and ddn't work for me, but might for someone else, and often it'll give a useful alternative idea.

If we end up doing enough of these, we'll certainly invest in something a lot more serious. But these are probably a one-off for now.

I do have a can of serious permanent glues-everything stuff, but it's a sparay can, and has serios over-spray problems. And we need something slower acting so things can be adjusted.

I did think about Bondawebbing the card...
