Another update on my Kenmore

The Kenmore has been fixed and I picked it up today. It sews like a dream. Smooth and quiet, nice stitch. The sewing machine guy went over it with a fine tooth comb. Cleaned it all up, inside and out. Checked the wiring and said it was fine, So for 65 bucks I have a nice second machine that I can take to the beach with me in the spring and bring home every fall. I'll leave it at home for now and bring it out next spring. Juno

I know I'm going to love it. DH cleaned up another table for me to use in my sewing room so I could get it going. Now I just have to convince DS to make me a frame to sit it in. Juno

FWIW, I've found that older machines, like those of us in the creaky-groany years, seem to do better with a little exercise at least once a month. Even if I'm not sewing, I try to give the machines a lookover and run them (sans needle) for about five minutes every month or so.

I will try to make it a habit to give it some exercise on a regular basis. Thanks for the hint.
